Gut reaction is Panerai but they came in too confident and fielded a weakened side. Up the right hand side where there should be a traditional number 3 they've opted to put in a non-sub-dial, all flash and no substance.

The Breitling makes it a dogfight and comes out on top.

    Breitling 1-0.

Panerai - timeless look and eight-day movement, so has a strong horological backbone

    Breitling for me.

The Panerai really ought to win this with it's movement, but if I had to choose between these two as a watch to wear, it has to be the Breitling.

590... left footed, curling free kick... from the halfway line

    Gotta be the Breitling!

Well that was a shock, thought the 590 would breeze it, it's now going home to national outrage and a full internal review

Rolex, larger size makes it a winner for me at the expense of my passion for chronographs.

This heavyweight clash fails to live up to the hype, an early goal for the SD sees Rolex park the bus for the next 89 minutes.

    1-0 Rolex.

    Gotta be Omega
SD43 clapped on too much lockdown weight compared to where it’s come from.

PO, but only because it’s not the SD43. Still waiting for that surprise entry that’s going to prevent the worst ever sports Rolex from walking away with the title against some much better contenders.

The sd is the favourite, but the PO is a much more interesting watch, very tight, but PO for me

The battle of the chunky monkeys. The PO continues its surprisingly good run through the competition and beats a laboured SD.

After a very tight game the favourite moves into the final, but who will it face in the final?

    Panerai 351 v breitling avenger 2 seawulf

The Breitling runs out of luck. This Panerai doesn't make the mistakes of the team Breitling faced in the previous round, the strongest possible team is fielded and soundly thrashes the boys in yellow.

Barely a contest, the Luminor breezes through 4-0.

Breitling faces another stern Panerai test - but alas lessons learnt and no mercy given. Titanium goodness just too much as Breitling's brave run halted in spectacular fashion and they're reminded they still have a lot to do to live at the elite level. Panerai progresses at a canter.

I'm very late to this novel thread, but well done for coming up with a new idea Chewitt13.

This round is an easy choice for me, the Panerai 351 is a clear winner. I love titanium.

  45. #295
Irrelevant now. Should have started the post by just saying “I’ve got a few watches, one of them is a Rolex, which one comes second?” Could understand it if it was the iconic Sub or a more popular model but this is the least popular model winning just because it’s a Rolex.
PAM then PAM in the final..
