I watched Greenland last night, typical end of the world type film but I liked it.
OK, not a movie, but for you petrol heads, and in case you haven't seen it, here's an old documentary on Le Mans on YouTube I just watched it and enjoyed it very much,

I watched Le Mans '66 again last night.
The racing scenes are not quite so good on a TV, but it's still a very enjoyable film, with some great performances, both Damon and Bale, but also the actors playing Miles' wife and son.

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
Taffin. Seriously. It's my go-to Friday night beer and curry film.
The Bee Gees feature documentary (currently £2 on prime) is a surprisingly good watch.
Watched Babyteeth last night, what a lovely, heartbreaking movie.
I have just watched one of the most horrible things in terms of the shock of seeing what is shown. It's a Documentary movie on Netflix called Last Breath. It's about saturation divers working in the North Sea oil field's and its an absolutely incredible story.
I won't spoil it but seriously Watch it you will be shocked and amazed.

I watched Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri last night.
I'd read the synopsis and was expecting a sombre affair. It turned out to be brilliant with some good humour thrown in.
It's a film that shouldn't work in a way as none of the characters are particularly nice but I'd highly recommend it if you've not seen it already.
Watched this last night...
Apparently based on true events. Worth a viewing

Watched I Care A Lot, worth a watch but the premise of the film made me feel uncomfortable and angry.
Saw Richard Jewell yesterday, awesome movie
Watched Stan and Ollie the other night. For some reason I always passed this up, more fool me. Coogan was excellent.
Anyone like the films of Wes Anderson? One to look out for, The French Dispatch is due for release on 28 August in the UK.
And, ICYMI, one he's yet to make:
Here is the investigation report from the main standards body for marine offshore work if anyone is interested. I'll be honest when this incident happened we (other dp operators) where shocked at the amount time and therefore distance it took the bridge team to get the vessel under control. Lack of experience and vessel knowledge are major contributors to this. The divers where very lucky.

I'll let the thread get back on track.
Thanks for that information. It was worth the follow up after seeing the documentary.

The Light Between Oceans
Fassbender, Vikander and Weisz in a beautiful piece of film. Warning: tears likely; guaranteed if you’re a parent.
On BBC iPlayer, no idea if streaming elsewhere.

I also watched Stan and Ollie last night. I've been wanting to watch it since it came out as I was always a bit of a Laurel and Hardy fan.
Steve Coogan and John C Reilly both shine.
Watched News of the World on Netflix earlier and really enjoyed it, well worth a watch.
Disconnect (2012) on Prime: Saw this last night and was impressed with the storyline and acting, a thriller on how the darker side of the internet can impact on innocent and not so innocent lives. Worth a watch.
“The judge”
Robert Duvall and Robert Downey JR.
On Netflix at the moment.
Wonderful movie on many levels. Emotional in parts, funny in others.
Anyone who has had disagreements with their father will enjoy this film.
We watched ‘The Catcher Was A Spy’ last night. It wasn’t my choice but it actually turned out to be quite a watchable film.
One of the best films I have ever watched.
I think that Coogan tends to be shite in films but this is a brilliant film with absolutely perfect performances.
It might have been mentioned before but if you’re interested in the 60’s space race, Spacewalker is excellent. It’s refreshing to see a movie look at things from the Russian aspect, and even my wife (who usually only watches “space stuff” to keep me happy) enjoyed it.
Currently on Amazon Prime, Russian language with subtitles but don’t let that put you off.
To anyone considering, don't bother surg the new capone film on netflix with Tom Hardy. Absolute waste of time

I watched "Strange Days" last night. Written by James Cameron, directed by Kathryn Bigelow and was such a box office disaster in 1995 that it almost cost Bigelow her career. It's actually a really good 90's sci-fi thriller and I'm glad I sought it out...ahead of its time.
I agree, good film, good cast - Ralph Fiennes, Angela Bassett, Juliette Lewis, Tom Sizemore, etc.
If anyone wants to see this film, I have a DVD (no packaging, just a crystal case - it was a test DVD for the French market, English/French language and English/French subtitles, region 2 PAL) I'll gladly send out for a small (30 bob'll do it) donation to the fundraiser. P&P on me. Just say 'yes please' in this thread and PM me your address.
Yup great movie Strange Days, I loved it.
13hrs. Worth a couple of hours of your evening.
Watched 'Whiplash' over the weekend and it was very good, well worth a watch.
If you like a prison escape movie, I just watched Escape from Pretoria on Prime and quite enjoyed it.
We watched "Empire of the Sun" recently - Quite an old film now, and I'm not sure it has stood the test of time that well, but Christian Bale's performance was pretty outstanding as were some of the supporting roles.
The cinematography was excellent, too.

I watched Another Round recently, a Danish film with Mads Mikkelsen about a group of teachers going through various forms of midlife malaise, who decide to deal with it by entering an experiment where they keep themselves slightly drunk during the day time. It's a comedic drama, and people I've spoken to tend to have differing opinions about what it's trying to say. Highly recommended.
Few decent ones to watch this month on Prime.
Last night Mrs. PC and I watched "Dick" for the third or fourth time. In an alternate reality, two ditzy 15 year-old girls unknowingly witness the Watergate break-in, and accidentally expose President Richard Nixon, causing him to resign the presidency.
If you have at least a smattering of knowledge about Watergate, this film hilariously 'answers' any lingering questions you may have about how the whole scandal unraveled.
Frantz
A lovely little film about the aftermath of WW1; the young German actress - Paula Beer - is wonderful.
In French/German, and on iPlayer:

´71, a drama thriller about a British soldier getting separated from his platoon in Belfast in 1971 after a riot, and the twists and turns between him, the protestants, catholics, the British army, civilians, and undercover agents trying to get him out or get him killed. Dark, intense, highly recommended.
The white tiger on Netflix, superb Indian film, had a parasite vibe going on as based around the caste system. Recommended.
