Hello,
Wondering if anyone can help?
Ive been offered a Rolex Hulk for a decent price. It was listed on eBay, ended, winning bidder at £13,300 (item number 363201965417) didn’t go through with it, that should probably send alarm bells ringing!
The guy seems nice enough, happy to do a face to face at an AD. That’s why I can’t get my head around it. It’s a 2018 watch so is still under warranty so they won’t remove the case back.
Unsure if anyone can see the pictures after the auction has ended.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Cant see it on eBay.
Take it to an independent in Bham and pay them to take the back off and authenticate.
AD won't help you.
What are you hoping will happen at the AD. I can’t imagine most would want to inspect for a third party deal. Also, who would you want to inspect it, a sales assistant? I’m not sure they’d be the most reliable. Are you expecting to pay for this service?

I would be more than happy to pay for them to verify but I guess they can’t be 100% without removing the case back. You’re right will have to take it to an independent who will remove.
Best of luck. An AD won't help you at all.
I can't say I'm an expert but if it's fake then it's certainly fooled me from everything provided. I'd say drop the shop an email with a copy of the receipt but I can't find them online anywhere.
I'd probably stay away from it personally.

I have seen the feedback but EBay is full of time wasters.
I am no expert either. I have a Rolex but wouldn’t trust myself in picking a genuine over a fake.
Rolex don’t include those cloths with their watches anymore, and haven’t done for a long time.
The sellers lack of feedback alone would make me run a mile. Don’t risk it.
Out of interest, how much does he want?
If you’ve checked his feedback and you want to continue good luck to you! I’m not sure much more can be added
No Rolex I’ve owned has got this shit around the cyclops either.

Run away.
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
Find an competent person to check the movement. Some of the sellers on the bay not only have watches but also making/forging receipts!
Thank you. You’re all right, why wouldn’t you be. Sold on eBay for £13.3k.
He said less his eBay fee I can have it for £12.5k.
I can’t believe these people exist. He’s happy to meet me! He should be stung!!
I'm no expert but the engraving on the rehaut doesn't look perfect.
Also the blue tinge looks odd

Its fake, look at the box and actually look at the watch and package to many flags. Receipts can be faked easily, I have a sub LV and it does not look like that.
His recent negative seller feedback was for the same watch. Think that’s just about enough evidence for me.
Crazy to see how far people can go to sell a fake watch. I couldn’t live with myself.

The shop at the address shown on the receipt is a jewellers called Koenig, they do not appear to be a Rolex dealer.
Black dial listed on “certificate”.
Unless you know what you are doing, I would only suggest you buy from a recognised dealer. Even if the pictures are of a real watch, there is nothing to say that is what you will get on arrival.
From what I can see, all the signs are there to flag a warning and for me, it is clearly not worth the risk.
Also weird that amount is in eur and not chf and the store doesn’t seem to exist.
Why do the photos in the listing show a green dial/green bezel, a green dial/black bezel & a black dial green bezel?
Who buys a Rolex off eBay?
I would sell one but no way would I enter that snake pit to buy.
Good luck getting any security off PayPal come refund time.
That VMS cert is about as useful as toilet paper. Just been on their website and they value things with physically seeing them! Yet, in his auction description, he states that the movement has been confirmed.
Proper Con.
Quite frankly with that feedback (or lack of it) I'm not even spending the time to check photos or description.
I'm not talking about a 10+k Rolex here but a 100 bucks Seiko even.

That warranty card.
Just NO.
Not only that but there is no watch shop on that address and certainly no name with that shop in company register.
Another thing is receipt is in EUR and 7.7% which is Swiss VAT but you will never see transaction in EUR from a POS like that.
And the warranty card is not from that year
Useful reminder (if required!) that a "valuemystuff" valuation is worth less than the paper it's printed on.
Sadly the fraudsters seem to be hoping that this time of year people will be letting their guard down:

As above the rehaut engraving looks bad. The font does not look like equal weight, correct spacing and heights on the letters. The engraving on the rehaut also looks very light.
The crown guard closest the crown should be angled not at 90degree to the crown.
The hazing around the cyclops doesn’t look correct, neither the consistency of light refraction off the cyclops.
The sunburst effect on the dial isn’’t convincing.
Of course the above could just be because of the photography but I would have it checked out professionally.
Can you contact the person that won the auction and backed out- they may be able to add some background.

If it was bought in Zurich, why Euros? I presumed it would be CHF.
Takes about 2 secs to see it’s a poor replica.

other than the apparent glue that has been squeezed out from under the cyclops.............................
Someone, somewhere - is going to get conned out £10k+
That's a common practice aimed at giving you confidence in the seller. Surely he wouldn't suggest that if there was anything to hide? A lot of buyers would take the willingness to do a face to face at an AD as a sign that everything was above board, & then not bother about doing that. If the buyer did take the seller up on it, the seller probably won't turn up.
Do you mind elaborating. For me on the front the crown looks flat, wrong proportions and the ‘prongs’ of the crown too thin.
On the back the Rolex pattern looks shockingly bad, but I don’t recall seeing a card like this with the date printed isn’t this usually hand written ?
I think the engravings and markers on the bezel look off - 55 marker looks like a sloppy application to me.
Poor fake card at first glance, rehant looks like it’s been done with a crayon

if you are a good buyer (i’m not), you can buy expensive items in ebay. I normally limit my amounts to purchase to max 500 gbp.

What a comedy advert, warranty card is for a Sub date. Person listing the watch even suggests it could be fake, quote
“ That’s all the information about the watch we know. I can’t answer questions about this watch.
I think this watch could be a good gift for someone. If you can’t spend much a new one, then watch may be a good solution for you”
All this and a £10 k asking price.
Steve
You've got a be an absolute b'stard to try and do this to somebody!
“18K Everose Gold Black Dial Black Leather Watch. Condition is "Used” but UNWORN.
I don’t have a contract with any watch company.
Not provided the warranty.
The watch is on sale because I bought it as a gift for my husband in March 2018, but he never wore it. So the watch is unworn.
We discussed what to do with this watch and he told me to sell it.
That’s all the information about the watch we know. I can’t answer questions about this watch.
I think this watch could be a good gift for someone. If you can’t spend much a new one, then watch may be a good solution for you.
I will send the watch by courier.
I modified this ad because several people have questioned the authenticity of the watch. That’s why I’d rather not say it’s an original watch. Maybe they tricked me. Please bid only if you accept this fact.
Thank you”
