The man behind darth Vader passed this morning, great man and made an iconic character.
Reminds me of this by Eddie Izzard.

This is a fabulous Prowse ‘moment’ interview for those who have watched Clockwork
Does anyone know why they replaced him with much older actor Sebastian Shaw for the 'big reveal' as Darth Vader was dying?
Interviewed in 1997, Dave Prowse himself didn't know as George Lucas had apparently started filming the 'death scene' before starting filming the first Star Wars film.
He visited our junior school as Green Cross Code man and lifted my mate up with one hand, with another kid in the other hand. We marvelled at his strength.
My kids can't get their heads around him being Darth Vader when they heard him on the radio this morning.
RIP Green Cross Code man.
I served and sold him a large kitchen appliance (can’t remember if it was a fridge/freezer, dishwasher or washing machine) during one of my post-university transient jobs at an upmarket retailer. The highlight of my large domestic appliance sales career, closely followed by a sale to Alan Bates (The Go-between). Tough times, 12% unemployment.
RIP Dave Prowse,
Rest easy big guy.
"Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it's enemy action."
"You gotta know when to hold em and know when to fold em".
He also helped Christopher Reeve get into shape for his Superman films.
Very sad. Dave has been a lifelong friend and I'll miss him.
RIP.
RIP father!

RIP David. I think you came to Hamleys as Darth Vader, many moons ago and I shook your hand. Very firm grip. Thankfully you didn't force choke me, but I must have been 8 or 10 at the time 🙂
When I was a wee lad we always took the Mickey out of the Green Cross Code man, that was until I found out he was the only and only Darth Vader.
RIP.
RIP Dave.
Always seemed a nice gentle giant with that west country accent.
Lived near my sister in Addiscombe.
Cheers,
Neil.
I had Dinner with David in 2012. He was a very kind and likeable man that loved his fans.
I once had to explain The Green Cross Code Man to a meeting room full of Hungarian millennials (long story).
RIP.
RIP David Prowse.
Darth Vader SHOULD have had a West Country accent!
Very sad to hear of the passing of the gentle giant, Dave Prowse.
I had the pleasure of meeting with him a few times. He had an empowering presence, but was a real gentleman at heart.
The way he was treated over the past few years by Disney was despicable.
However, he will always remain the greatest movie villain of all time.
He lived just down the road from me in Bristol, i remember him returning to visit his old house, very cool
Mr Prowse was an interesting chap highly recommend his autobiography "Straight From The Force's Mouth".

Remember meeting him in Barry, S Wales Community center as a kid just after Return of the Jedi for a Star Wars convention organised by the local toy shop "Roys Toys"
He was in the proper costume and was pretty terrifying. I must of got his autograph but god knows where it went - probably chucked out by my mum along with my vast collection of Kenner Star Wars toys that my mum deemed as tat several years later!!!
