Tuna1138: interesting to here you have had good servie from seiko uk.

Is this the website : http://seikoservice.co.uk/

I sent in a seiko kinetic on the 4th of novemner and have struggled to get much communication from
    them.
So far i have a reference number but it seems i need a username and pass to use that which they
    have not provided.

how did the system work for you?

    thanks

Tuna1138: ok different letter to me

It has been me who has instigated any communication.

Got a preInvoice so maybe that is why.
It says how much they expect it to cost.

Emailed them again to see if they can clarify things

    thanks

Obviously our circumstances are a little different,
mine was a warranty 'repair' simple fix I guess as it was only a bit of dust/lint under the crystal
    hope you get sorted soon

very happy with this, which has been firmly clamped to the wrist since it arrived on Wednesday. Any suggestions for alternative straps gratefully accepted, given the 19mm lug width. Would be interested to know what fellow owners use.

Great choice, congratulations. I love the 039.

As an owner of an SLA021, I can recommend a look over Uncle Seiko's straps. I bought their version of the waffle style similar to yours and I'm very pleased with it. Choices at 19mm will be limited, if it were me, I'd keep that on the stock strap you have on it, am I right in thinking it's silicone ? Think Seiko got it right there, their silicones feel great and they offer much more flexibility in fit due the the closely spaced holes, better than you'll find on aftermarket jobs.

Try wjean straps. I’ve heard they are a softer compound to the Uncle Seiko variants and are more comfortable. I just ordered a wjean waffle at 19mm for a SLA017 myself.

Cheers for the comments. Agreed that the stock strap looks spot on, only draw back is the length, with the tall coming right around the back of my wrist. Not sure what it’s made of, at a guess I would say rubber.

That strap looks more royal than the watch. Is it the light doing trickery or that strap actually is as beautiful as it looks here.

What strap is that if you don't mind answering? Thx

The strap is as good as it looks in the picture. It comes with the watch and is canvas. Here's another shot of it.

I know the Solar models have their bashers but I find them as really handy no fuss watches. Have a few of them.

I bought this one and didn't really like it out of the box on the rubber strap it came on, but this strap caught my eye in the Watchgecko sale and now I'm really liking it.
