That is simply incredible!
Janette Ritson remained at the NHS Golden Jubilee in Clydebank when her left tibia (shin bone) was sent on a 20-minute journey to Glasgow.
It was treated with radiation at the Beatson Cancer Centre before being returned to Clydebank and reattached.

That is quite astonishing, removing part of a leg and sending it for treatment then popping it back in when done, the progression of medical science is astonishing. I presume they didn't send it via My Hermes? They would have lost her leg in transit...
Yes, this is all very good until someone re attaches the wrong leg.
They won't know what's afoot until it's too late, and the hospital then won't have a leg to stand on.
I almost checked the date when I read this today, modern medicine advances but unfortunately some diseases cannot yet be cured.
I am sure they didn't run before they could walk, they tried it on something smaller like a toe first.
It would be an inconvenience to say the least if they did put the wrong leg back on, you could end up with one size 11 foot and other a size 4. every time you went for a jog you would go around in circles...
They did something similar in Israel a little while ago. Removed a lung from a cancer patient, removed a tumor from the lung and then put it back in. It’s remarkable what they can do these days. I had a tumor removed from my leg last year, which involved rerouting part of a muscle and having some skin from my thigh put on my shin. Surgeons seemed to think it was a very simple procedure but to me it sounded utterly impressive.
