Ive been a west ham fan since 1966
When in my little boy mind i realised west ham just won the world cup with some other england players
Always great to watch they are either brilliant or terrible
    Never dull
Preferred Upton park but things change
The ironic thing with old school west ham was Upton park was a little bit racist but then we signed clive best how things change

Upton Park was a great ground and intimidating for the opposition but I find the new place too big (especially when it's not full), fans too far from the pitch and when things aren't going right, too quiet. I know they played away today but I wonder if playing in an empty stadium at home actually helps the West Ham players?

I blame you for this - if you weren’t so helpful I’d have saved £9.99

That’s not a bad first half, considering it’s our fourth game in eight days and our main playmaker is out!

Years ago, me and my mate, both 17 at the time, rode up to Upton Park on a motorbike to watch the Glory Hornet Boys play West Ham. Having parked the bike in a nearby side street we walked towards the ground and dived into the first pub we came across and ordered a couple of pints. We then walked over to the side of the bar and removed our bike jackets to reveal our bright yellow Watford shirts.

Before we’d even had a chance to take a mouthful of lager this huge geezer came over and said “you don’t really want to stay and drink those, do you lads?” and when we looked up everyone in the pub was staring at us. We squeaked a quick “no Sir” and he escorted us out (giving us safe passage).

The first and only time I’ve been in The Boleyn, and I will always be grateful that the locals took pity on two skinny little Watford wallies, and released us unharmed.

I can’t remember the score in the match, but we definitely had a result that day.

Is Roy Keane doing any punditry today? If yes, can’t wait to catch it later.

Good result and a good week. When we resume we should have Sonny, Kane and Bale up front, so it might just get interesting.

I have to agree with you there, I think Bale will have a point to prove too.

UTD are in disarray from top to bottom? Cavani must be exited..............

Good job Spurs have Bale to step in, now that Lamela is likely to be out for months with the broken jaw he sustained in today’s unprovoked violent assault.

You’ve got to love football, I didn’t think anything would cheer me up after that gutless performance and then villa go and absolutely batter Liverpool.

I said a few days ago that the defending is shocking and never has that been highlighted more than today some crazy results

In the grand scheme of things, it just doesn’t matter. The season will be like nothing we’ve seen before .
Anybody might win it this year .

It was a shock but not a surprise (to me) given Liverpool play that ultra high line all the time line Bayern and have been lucky in the past to escape. Add the fact that our form ever since coming back from lockdown has been patchy, apart from good displays against Chelsea and Arsenal. Most notably the defending has gone backwards - big time.
The last few days have shown that anything is possible - City losing 5-2, Leicester losing 3-0, the Utd and Liverpool batterings. The teams in form now are Everton and Spurs but I expect everyone to drop points in what could be the most up and down PL race ever. As GOAT said, in the grand scheme of things it's only 3 points dropped but for Liverpool it's a big wake up call that everything is not ok and key players need to take responsibility on the pitch when things aren't going well. I think we miss the leadership of Henderson and now with Alisson, Thiago and Mane out for a while it's going to be a difficult period.

+1 although our next game is against Liverpool and our record over the last 20 years is not good. I'm hoping Carlo's influence and new players who have no idea what a Merseyside Derby is will help stop our usual crumbling performance.

Just hope Jordan Pickford gets injured during international duty. Come on Wales, do a job on him

Well a crazy Sunday of football! Arsenal was a painful match to watch but we won. Always thought Spurs would win at Man U but not by 6! Liverpool was a crazy score and it could have been so many more if Watkins had scored with his other good chances. Grealish and Barkley are a good duo to have in midfield if they can keep fit.

One of my friends is a huge bluenose and we were chatting before the season started . He’d already given up on their chances but I was praising Ancelotti and the influence he would have to bring big names in . Alongside some of their own coming good , the future looks good for them .
Once the new stadium is built , they will regain their place as one of the big hitters . Allied to the money they’re sitting on , Everton are going to be fighting it out for trophies very very soon and I can’t wait .

Everton have got Godfrey in now and he looks a player.

If they can get a new keeper and a striker they will be in the mix challenging the top 4.

Feel sorry for the fans with the covid situation Goodison would have been bouncing !

It’s been a long time coming with one two many false dawns. We now have one of the worlds best managers who in first transfer window as transformed the team. As said with some new blood the team will not crumble when we play Liverpool. COYB Exciting times

I think the target this year should be a domestic cup and not worry so much about Europe. We can't go from being crap to a Champions league place in one season, Carlo probably needs another transfer window and some time to identify those who he needs to let go to truely get the team playing his way. Even Klopp took a couple of seasons to get Liverpool how he wanted them.

I would rather miss out on Europe and win a cup, then push on after that. No one wants to qualify for the EL do they.

I’ve seen some of the worst and best managers at Chelsea from Danny Blanchflower to Conte, but Ancelotti has been the greatest we’ve had IMHO. To this day I’ll never understand the reason to sack him?

A nice transfer window for Arsenal, Partey will hopefully be our new Vieira. Will be interesting to see how he fits in, if he will play Xhaka and Partey and move Cabellos behind a striker, or drop Xhaka. Arteta still needs to focus on playing PEA up top and not waste him on the wing. Biggest disappointment was that Nkeith is still there, and could have shifted a few more players out to reduce the wage bill.

Still looking like it could be a good season for Arsenal, outside chance of a top 4 finish.

How much would you have shaved off the wage bill just by loaning out/paying off Mesut Özil? I read somewhere that he’s on £300-£350,000 per week. As a Celtic supporter, I’m pleased to see that Kieran Tierney isn’t out of place in the English top flight.

yes Ozil is crippling the club at the moment, at least if he was playing it would be ok! No one will loan him as his wages are so high. Arsenal should just pay his contract up and call it a day, he must be a negative influence around the club.

Tierney is a great player, hopefully he can stay fit all season and he will get even better, a solid defender with a great cross.

I'm still hoping there's money in Aston Villa's purse to bring in another striker and winger. We have Trezeguet on the right with Traore for backup but El Ghazi isn't really up to scratch if anything happens to Grealish (or we try changing formation). Benrahma would be a great addition. I suspect we'll end up with Josh King from Bournemouth, we have Kienan Davis as Ollie Watkins' backup up front and while he's a fantastic prospect he really needs a season in the Championship on loan to get firing. But then we do still have Brazilian striker Wesley coming back from injury. Selling Samata last week does seem to suggest we might have someone else coming in, we'll see.

Ollie Watkins in just the Liverpool match scored half as many goals as all our strikers scored in the PL last season. We have the defence and midfield, we just need to make sure we have the strikers scoring too.
