Excellent - I swear if I had that talent I would never leave the house.
Found it a little frustrating not to see him do the writing etc. it seemed to edit/cut chunks out. Superb nonetheless
I've seen this guy's work before but this one has added watch interest:

Those are some sharp pencils!
I love how the artist used a well-used watch and included all the scratches and swirlies in. Added that bit of realism.
Amazing talent. His Instagram has some incredible stuff as well
Wow, great work. The level of patience and attention to detail is astounding.
Put a picture in photoshop erase a little bit at a time and then run it backwards.
He's certainly got a skill but it's not quite as difficult as it may look and something you could learn.
It's not show in the shot but he's effectively copying a photograph. Take any photo, make it black and white, apply a grid to it, then grid out a sheet of paper and sketch-out exactly what you see in each grid of the photograph – with a lot of practise and patience you eventually you'll end up with something that looks pretty much like the original photo.
With a lot of practice and patience - is that not the exact definition of an acquired skill?
In fairness I don’t think he’s attempting to deceive - the grids are pretty evident on the artboard and having watched a few of his vids he’s more open than some of his contemporaries about his technique and materials.
In my experience only a quarter of the skill is in the mark making. The other three quarters is in the observation (or thereabouts).
I would be happy enough if I could just sharpen a pencil anywhere near as well as that, let alone use them with such great skill.
Has anyone seen the Vermeer documentary "Tim's Vermeer"? Thoroughly recommended. Cheating with mirrors and stuff goes back a long way.
