I just discovered this one,no idea when it was released.

Definitely prefer yours. Indifferent at best towards the one featured.

There are quite a few variants of this now, I guess because the Tipo CP-2 was a limited edition, and in wanting to capitalise on its sales success they had to come up with various tweaks rather than pump out more than promised of the original.

    See endo's post 71 @

for a really useful collation of the variants so far.

I’d really struggle with the lack of symmetry in the sub-dial hands.

Yeah, I didn't notice that either until you pointed it out but you're right.

In general I like the idea of visually separating the 3 continuous hands from the chrono hands, but it works better when you have 3 subdials. I especially like how it's done on my Longines 1954, where the two chonro subdials are contrasting (at 12 & 6), whereas the continuous seconds hand (at 9) is a silver hand on a silver dial. So it kinda fades into the background, but is still visible enough to do its job when you care about it.

In summary, I too prefer the original. A crucial part of what makes the design work are the big-but-clean subdials, with the edge defined only by the markers. Having contrast subdials just goes against the most distinctive aspect of the design, even without the mismatched hands. What sets the CP-2 dial design apart from the Heuer Bund is that the subdials are just a touch more spacious and the numerals are made lighter to create some of that space. It's a tiny change, but it makes a really big difference. I really prefer the CP-2 to the Bund.

Although it really is a lovely watch I can’t get over how close the subdials are to each other.
