I like Wheatbeers (German Weissbier, though, is my preference) and I like cherries, but I'm not 100% convinced they work together...
Not as horrible as you might imagine, though.

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
I took myself off to the Vic yesterday afternoon. I only went down for a couple, but as the Black Bishop was reduced to £2 a pint it would have been rude to leave early . . .

I used to really like the Double Maxim back in the early 80's, quite different to Brown Dog but equally nice. The name lives on, but it's quite a different beer now. It was only in bottles back then, this is the only decent pic I can find.

First of the day , walking the dogs and called at Granville’s, pint of Wilde Child Obsidian Phantom
And a white wine for Mrs T , Mack & Collie Sauvignon Blanc , apparently a really nice one.

The Verdant fairy came again on Friday with two old favourites and a new German Pils (which was jolly nice)...
Sadly not all for me, some to be shared. I am but the delivery boy. If you’ve never tried Neal Gets Things Done then do add it to your respective lists, it’s the most wonderfully juicy, fruity, hoppy IPA I think I’ve ever had. My desert island beer!
This was definitely NOT like any Kölsch I’ve had before, but it was light and fruity nevertheless, so no disappointment in the park for me...
This was basically fruit punch, jolly nice all the same...
And this was IMMENSE, as you’d expect at 13.5%. A sipping drink more akin to a dessert wine (hence the small pours and wine glasses). A really quite incredibly rich and decadent beer. It was fantastic and I wish I hadn’t given away the other 3 to friends!
And finally, last night, an excellent collaboration with California’s Firestone Walker from Thornbridge. It was one of the best West Coast style IPA’s I’ve had in ages, citrusy, hoppy and resinous, all in balanced harmony.
Recommended!
Had this when back home yesterday , after a couple of pales in Granville’s , another Northern Monk Old Flax Store brew , like Pimm’s in a can , strawberry and cucumber and citrus flavours with sour finish , really refreshing

Just finished a week of no drinking as I was on-call. I have this trio ready for later tonight, in the order they will be consumed. The Adnams is an excellent IPA.

A couple of quick beers before going out for a birthday ruby!
A Voss IPA at 6.5% - whatever a Voss IPA is
Four each of these arrived earlier, via Mrs Mag's weekly Tesco drop, both 4 for £6, my stash is now even larger and more varied . . .
Something light and refreshing to get the evening underway . . .

Bob. On your recommendation I bought some Harbour Pale Ale.
Hoping to have try of it this evening.

First time in a bar since lockdown for me yesterday, my best drinking buddy and I got there around 3pm to make sure we got a table outside and we didn't leave until 10pm... Great to catch up and just as good to get a few proper pints in, and I must put a shout out to the Ale House in Chelmsford for their well organised "new normal" venue and table service, the latter of which I could very much get used to!
Can't remember what my mate's drink is in the background however that's Tiny Rebel's Clwb Tropicana standing in front of it, a staple at that venue and something I've missed.
Clwb Tropicana
Good stuff that.

On a slightly serious note for those of you who appreciate the UK’s smaller brewers, you may know that those who brew relatively smaller amounts each year benefit from specific duty relief introduced some years back.
This Small Breweries Relief (SBR) is critical for the survival of many of the small breweries that appear on this thread, and has been instrumental in enabling the amazing market we now have in the U.K. for incredible variety and quality across many price points.
Big Beer Inc. and many of the supermarkets have a colossal hold over the international and national market, with sales of craft beer and real ale small by comparison.
There have been various debates on this thread about price sensitivity and what you can get in xyz supermarket for y pounds, much of which is loss-led and fuelled by Big Beer discounting because they operate at such massive scale.
So we should all care about this if we want to continue to enjoy the variety and quality of beer that is available in the UK’s pubs, bottle shops and supermarkets.
May I ask you to please take a moment to consider reading about this and writing to your MP of you feel it’s important to support.

With reduced footfall the dark beer isn't selling in the Vic, hence the recent £2 per pint for the Black Bishop, ho hum needs must. . .
Also, waiting to go on (but not my cup o' tea, although I'll try a half) . . .

Just been to Granville’s for a couple , Kirkstall Dexter milk stout and Brew York’s Tonkoko , both really good drinks.
Went to Kirkstall brewery tap on Friday night as birthday get together, full range of their beers , Dexter and Black Band Porter particularly good and lovely pizzas as well!
Followed by short walk to their pub , Cardigan Arms on Kirkstall Road , for a few more.

A few more racked up this weekend.
Single hop series from Cloudwater who continue to turn out some amazing quality beers. This was showcasing Cascade, it was super-smooth and balanced sweet and bitter perfectly. I’d have had three or four had they been available. Only bought one!
First proper lads night at the pub, limited cask offerings but Proper Job was on and fresh as you like. Can’t not have it if I see it.
Another Cornish gem that I brought back from my recent trip. Pipeline are small and one to watch if you like very well balanced hazy IPA’s. Smooth, fruity, nice residual dank bitterness.
And today I took the mountain bike out of London for a ride on the South Downs and in Friston Forest. A stones throw from two amazing small breweries, Long Man and Burning Sky. I was riding with pals, it was sunny, warm and with a fresh breeze up on the downs. As I rode I started day-dreaming of an ice cold Saison from Burning Sky to have with the BBQ chicken wings that I knew my wife was planning for dinner. Fortunately I had a bottle in the fridge at home but I knew that a local farm shop had re-opened who sell their beers, so popped in as I was driving past to get home anyway. Grabbed a few as prices were super-low compared to online or local bottle shops here in London.
And here’s what I’m currently enjoying as I type...
Stunning stuff, I’m going to bosh the lot!

After a long walk in very hot weather (for Derbyshire) what would you crave?
Yes! A real pint in an actual pub! The first since March.
And even better....a Yorkshireman bought it me! Thanks Walkerwek1958 and good to see you in person again mate.
Pint of this at The Golden Rule, Ambleside
Went down a treat
