Lovely collection you have there.
Hi all!
Been a forum member since 2009, back when you could post in SC with only 50 posts and go to pubs and shake hands with people. In fact I think I got a mention in H&V a few times for the sale of a GMT and a couple of Breitlings.
Spent a few years lurking, lived in France for a bit with no internet connection (bliss) but now I’ve got a lot of time on my hands I find myself tinkering with and buying watches again and it seemed like a good
time to reconnect with the TZ community.
Been through god knows how many iterations of my
relatively modest collection in 12 years as you can imagine.
This is how things look today....
And here are some that have been and gone....in no particular order....
Really looking forward to reconnecting and being a bit more active on here again.
Lovely collection you have there.
The Longines military model (small seconds): Is that the new reissue? They’ve only just become available. If so, what prompted you to move it on?
Yes it is. The 1938 Limited Edition reissue. And you're right, they have only just come out.
The simple answer is that I needed to liquidate some assets. Hence why I've just sold my beloved BLNR too.
Won't bore you with my life story but I work in big ticket technology sales. Quit a job I hated in Feb without another to go to as historically I've always been able to pick up another in 3 or 4 weeks. Took a little down time, chilled out, and then decided to start the job hunt proper just as COVID19 landed.
Perfect timing!
Welcome back! Very interesting roman dial on that Breitling, never seen one like it before.
Chalk and cheese really.
The Super A is my wanna be rapper watch!
I jest, but it's a big ol' lump but then so am I (6'2" and 15 stone), so I think I can get away with it.
I love the Super A but it wears high and heavy. Got a few motorbike jackets that I can't wear when I have it on due to the bulk.
The Chronomat wears much much lower and due to the profile, to me it feels smaller than its 44mm size. But I do like bigger watches. It doesn't feel miles different on the wrist to a 40mm Rolex Sports model IMO.
The Super A is very much a jeans, t shirt and Timbos watch for me - the Chronomat could definitely be dressed up or down and wouldn't look out of place with a suit on at all.

Liked it but didn’t LOVE it (hence why it got shifted on). Very classic (obviously) weirdly I felt it wore quite big for such a slim watch.
For me personally it didn’t quite fit being dressed up.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s a lovely thing. I bought it for a reason but we just never fell in love.
Happens sometimes I guess.

Hi Joe,
You've been away for years!
I really wish you'd told me you were selling that Oris Pilot. I'd have snapped it up (after a haggle)
Good to see you're back in the TZ fold.
A very nice SOTC. Not as nice as your dog!!!
Good luck with the job hunt.

Wb! Lovely collection you have, and you have moved on some stunners too. Sympathy with the same job timing but I’m sure you’ll bounce back. I do love the Breitlings you have they are nice!
