Heinz, is there another?
Branston
Crosse & Blackwell
Heinz
Other (please specify)
If you had the choice, which would you choose of these?

Heinz, is there another?
I used to love Heinz but the taste has changed, more artificial, and I now only eat Crosse & Blackwell. Sure, I could add a bit of salt and sugar but I really can't be bothered. C&B hit the nail on the head.
Doh, I've just realised Crosse & Blackwell make the Branston beans...

Branston are the Grand Seiko of the bean world. Heinz have become the Invicta.
Just look at the prices on Beanfinder, or look at the views on Beanuseek. The serious beanists have deserted Heinz in their droves
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
The sauce in Heinz has lost a lot of flavour and is too thin. Shame really.
Beanz meanz Heinz.
So clever my foot fell off.
Simple - just fill in the blank: "Beanz Meanz ............."
Not much choice right now.
We’ve got Tesco (std + reduced salt), Lidl, Branston and Heinz in cupboard. I’ll compare them!
Heinz is just some weird, thin orange liquid now. Awful.
Branston, all day long.
Branston, all day long
^^^whoops, didn’t mean to do the weird copying thing!
Aldi - much nicer than the famous brands
Agree that Heinz is mostly liquid these days. Tesco mixed beans for me.
Always Heinz, however in the past year only Waitrose essential as they have a really thick tomato sauce with large beans and far better than any thing I have tasted.
Branston as just beans, also own brand 5 beans and curry version from supermarkets.
The sausages are the deciding factor
Branston every time. Unless you go cassoulet, as mentioned above.

1) Buy a tin of beans.
2) Pour into pan and place on hob.
3) Add desert spoon of English mustard.
4) Heat thoroughly.
5) Enjoy.

No preference for me, as I always pour out the surplus sauce and add a squirt of ketchup and usually a dab of chili powder for extra zip
Don't get me started on the toast etiquette!
Branston, then I’d rather any supermarket home brand and last on my list would be Heinz.
Tomatoes are the food of the devil, a plate combined with the haricot bean is like looking a painting by Hieronymus Bosch to me...
Can’t stand them...

In the absence of haricot, cannellini or similar beans in the store cupboard, Mrs K has recently taken to starting with a tin of baked beans, rinsing and making her own sauce using tinned tomatoes, garlic etc. Decent enough but a lot of work when it's already a meal in a tin.
Bransons here.
I don’t think they still sell Crosse and Blackwell Beans?

Heinz have gone downhill and I baulk at the price these days. C&B are ok but there is something missing. Waitrose own are pretty good, Sainsbury's own are dreadful with small, hard beans. However a recent discovery and my new favourite are Asda's, good plump tender beans and a good flavoured sauce. And less than a quid for four cans.
All I can guess is that some of us must have superior palates as Heinz definitely went through a change some years ago and just isn't what it used to be
Branston is the closest we've found to what Heinz used to be.
We were a Heinz family for 30 years and for some reason got Branston and realised how better they were. However, Heinz were given a second chance and my family agreed to never buy Heinz beans again.
Asda with a dash of Worcester both cheap and satisfying
I FEEL LIKE I'M DIAGONALLY PARKED IN A PARALLEL UNIVERSE
Any modern baked bean isn't a patch on Armour baked beans from years ago, long gone as far as I know. Branston are the best of the pretenders.

Any brand with a good dash of Tabasco and plenty of freshly ground black pepper.

Wouldn’t allow Heinz beans into the house. Watery thin “sauce” devoid of any taste.
Branston all day long.
Looks like I need to do a taste test then, as Heinz aren’t fairing well in this thread.
Perhaps I have been missing out...
