Dreaded date issue. Dec 18 watch.

Thanks Rusty. I am pragmatic too. AD very apologetic, as I said not a problem of their making.
I'm sure it will all be sorted, just I am about to do a bit of traveling and use it for its intended purpose. Very unlikely to be back in time.

On Siena and something else.

Mine has just got back to Tudor for its second repair, this time for the date issue. It skipped a day three days in a row and then on the fourth day got stuck between dates.
Mine is a Nov 2018 watch and went back to them the first time in Nov 2018, but not for the date.
Tried one on recently as I saw it sitting in the window of Goldsmiths (which in itself struck me as unusual) but ended up passing on the opportunity - as an overall package (coupled with well documented issues) it didn’t cry out to me.
Pity, as it was firmly on my radar until I tried it on

I’ve just put mine on a grey nato from Bark & Jack and it seems to fit me a lot better than when on the bracelet

I still love mine aesthetically but think it really is too thick for my pencil wrists and as such does not end up getting much wrist time. I'm sorely tempted to sell and buy a BB58 which is probably more my dimensions.
Such as shame as I think its an absolute stunner - maybe Basel will be worth waiting for however!
Luckily I have larger wrists at 8 inches and it
wears really well. I really don’t find it too thick but then I am used to a Monaco which feels quite tall and chunky. It’s also not as thick as my old Seamaster chrono which was 16.8 mm thick, which was too much and I sold it. The Tudor GMT
is I think a great all-round watch which is rapidly becoming one of my favourites.

I have a 7 inch wrist and understand the comments and compared to the 58 it certainly has considerable weight. The 58 is almost unnoticeable on the wrist. Whereas you know you are wearing the GMT. For me it needed to have a 21 bracelet and be 13mm thick. I love mine and it’s going nowhere but personally I would not want anything even a tad bigger.
Big watches will cause wrist fatigue if worn lose. The bigger the watch the snugger it should be fitted behind the wrist bone. Wearing a watch this way helps a lot. For me that’s the only way to wear any watch but when it comes to heavy weights it becomes IMHO the only way.
My GMT is on the Siena leather strap so weight is not perceived at all. Perfect size for my 7.5 wrist.

I am surprised people on ebay still trying to sell at retail given these are freely available- this afternoon in manchester (is the red strap option new).
Decided to move mine on. Picking it up next weekend as it's just come back from Tudor.
Glad to see them in shops now though as they are lovely. They have suffered from a couple of quick price hikes which dulls the value proposition a little in my book.
Just the way of the world I guess!
Well picked mine up today. Not all good.
2 main issues.
1. The dial is not the same one I sent them on my watch....it is a poor quality replacement with very poor lume. Almost looks like a fake. Lime seems to have been unevenly added and has spilled over.
I will photo it in day light. Thankfully I have photos to show them.
2. The winding is like a ratchet....really. Just not the smooth movement of the watch I sent them.
When I got home and had a proper look there appeared to be a mist over the crystal. At first I thought it internal, bit with some glasses cleaner it came off. Se sort of grease. That lead me to notice the very poor lime on the indices.
God knows what they have done.
Got to say I am very disappointed.

Not good...Mine has to go back... Had an inkling it was jumping but because I don’t wear it constantly I wasn’t sure then I was keeping it wound in my box and it had done it
Then 2 days later it had done it again so it’s going back to ROX in Newcastle

That is shocking, Last week I had to take mine back to the AD after experiencing date issues. I’m hoping mine doesn’t come back like that!
Out of interest, did you have to leave the guarantee card with the AD? I did and thought it was unusual.

The lume plots particularly at 6 o’clock are very obvious and I’d imagine easily visible to the naked eye. No way in hell I’d have taken that dog back off them.
Actually zooming in - the line looks a bit irregular on the 6 o’clock marker in the “before” image too
Mine for comparison

That is terrible indeed. Did the AD send the watch to Rolex to repair??
By the time I dropped it off at the AD this morning it had fogged up again.
No I have not left them the card, or even shown it. They know me and as far as I am concerned they can look it up. It was registered with them, otherwise what is the point of the dealer registering it at time of purchase.
Needless to say the girls in the AD were pretty appalled.

Oof. Hope you get it sorted.
How the hell did that get returned to a customer?!?!? Beggers belief

mmmmm horror story. I mean within every brand there is something like this.
I have had a brand new Boutique IWC BP. Within one month, movement was destroyed.
It was broken from the factory.... never again an IWC for me. :(
Back to the topic, every brand has something like this. I have had it with my IWC. While I hear some people have the same and some doesn't.
It's bad luck, but now from Tudor I hear this a lot. I would skip them too. Omega FTW.
My PO is probably my favourite watch of the more recent ones I have bought. Interestingly when I picked up and returned the Tudor, looking at them side by side, you an really see the quality of the Omega.
I was going to get a BB58 but having second thoughts.
