No slouch either, as I recall!
Love that CCM - I have been looking rather enviously at them for a while.
I have made a commitment to my next custom project, I am getting an early Pegaso 650, with the Rotax engine and the USD forks. I pick it up next week, a nice low mileage example in an unattractive colour.
I plan to make it lose a shedload of weight on the way to being more of an off-road capable bike.

Back out in the mud today, great ride around Elan Valley and the reservoirs.
The bike will need a good session with the hose tomorrow though.
I had a good look around the Ducati XDiavel S at the local dealer yesterday. Going to take a test ride when they’ve registered the bike as a demonstrator.
Am I right in thinking someone here has one?
Enoch, I would be very tempted to put some Ti headers on that. Would look fantastic without a cat and with some colour down low from the heat.
Nice!
How have you found it?
The ride got some stick for being harsh, but 200 miles later it can’t be that bad from your POV?
The one I sat on had the pegs and the bars set in the furthest back position which was comfortable for me (5’ft9)
If I got one I’d be sorely tempted by the Termi exhaust - there are some videos of the sound on YouTube!
Nice idea, but I think they’re way to expensive for what they are.... if I was going to do any mod it’d be carbon fibre wheels... in the meantime I’ve painted the cat mat black, to get it to blend in..
I love it. The ride on this one is much less harsh than my previous one. The dealer said they’d revised the rear shock on the later models, and my backside agrees.
My pegs are in the rear position which is fine, but I hated the handlebars for being too wide. I swapped them for some from the normal 1260 Diavel, and they’re around 5” narrower and for me a big improvement..
As for the termi, I really don’t like it, it sits to low and looks odd to my eyes. The Zard one looks better, but I really like the sound and look of the standard one. I’ve put a Rolands Sands finisher on it, and it looks spot on. So I really don’t feel the need to spend Ł2k+ on anything else..
Super, thanks!
I wonder when they changed the shock? I was toying with buying used given the fairly steep initial depreciation but I’’’ would want the more compliant ride really, particularly as my wife occasionally rides pillion (she’’ is small enough for the back seat).
I do like the Termi though, but agree Ł2.5k for a couple of inches of tubing is obscene. The full Eisenmanm stainless exhaust on my M6 was less than that!!
My latest. I am still getting used to the size and weight. I’m 6’ tall and I almost dropped it second time out. Crash bars on order!

Tony I was looking at the genesis of this thread earlier on, and I think as an R9T owner you should re read post 3!
It just shows how people develop through riding and what at first seems intimidating quickly becomes the norm. I don't think I will ever think the current Moto GP boys 275 bhp is the norm though.

No shame in chicken strips mate. Better get home nice n safe after an enjoyable ride than try and scream round every corner risking your life to scrub a bit of rubber.

Your body position if correct can get you round a corner far faster and more safely than just inducing more lean angle, chicken strips prove very little either way
Dead right

This Guy on You Tube has a great channel on riding techniques, this is his view regarding chicken strips, worth a watch as are many of his other videos
Yeah I know.... All my bikes have chicken strips, and it does make me laugh when folk comment. The funny thing last week was that my mate on his 675, is running tyres that were given to him by a BSB rider that had done a few laps on them at a track day. They were absolutely balled up right to the very edges.. I heard people commenting, wow he must be a hell of a rider...
The truth is he’s only recently passed his test, and is very safe n steady🤪😎😎
Picked up my Scout Bobber today, massively fun to ride and it looks and sounds exactly how I wanted it to. Vane and Hines pipes are borderline deafening but I think that’s a valuable safety feature, officer.
When looking at that Scout Bobber it can never be said “ that engine doesn’t fill the frame” I particularly like the pillion perch and back rest. It suits the bike and doesn’t detract from the single ruder seat. Enjoy
Yeah, in the showroom it was fitted with a massive rear rack, which may have been useful, but looked a bit crap. The rack is in my garage now.
As for Oxford Grips, I am so shallow that I struggle to like the looks of the big old control switch they come with. I'm getting a quote for some OEM grips, although in reality I bought this bike for the summer and I should be using the GS in this weather.
It’s amazing how “original” they’ve made that look. I can definitely see the appeal of it.
Honda integrated heated grips do look a lot better than aftermarket...but they’re waay more expensive and mine weren’t all that hot. I also didn’t really want an Oxford control unit on the bars so was still the better option for me
I like you ride a GS albeit only a small 700. I dont think heated grips are just for the winter months. I find I use mine probably 10 months out of 12. So definitely get them either oem , or oxford plus hidden “brick”
Why , because yep at this time of year you will use heated gloves. But say a lovely day out on the coast in May 16/20 deg C . Riding home, sun goes down temps drop to 8 to 10. Heated gloves tucked up in a drawer at home. Thats when , do I chose 1,2 or full fat heating on the grips. Lastly when its peeing down I switch my gloves on just to feel good !
