We really enjoyed the first episode of Dracula on iPlayer. Gory and a bit scary but modern and doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Tried to watch this, first episode, then realised I’ve tried to watch it before when it was first launched in 2018. Did see the first episode through to the end this time. Effects were pretty good, but the acting was meh, especially Will Robinson. Gonna give up on this one and keep with watchmen, now midway through season 1, and must say the twists and turns are great, bonkers story line, absolutely love it.

Roman Empire - on Netflix.... thoroughly enjoyed, - would highly recommend.
The Witcher is awful quality but worth a watch.
Bit of an oldie but Wild Wild Country on Netflix is surreal and very interesting!
Messiah, a really good watch.
Dracula just turned up on Netflix France. An interesting take on the story, not entirely faithful to the novel and the portrayal of the count seems to owe more than a little to Tom Ellis's Lucifer Morningstar.
Jonathan Harker - "You're a monster"
Dracula - 'and you're a lawyer, no-one's perfect"
Dracula is peak state broadcaster.
Title character now flamboyantly bisexual (with an estuary accent, because heaven forbid a count should sound aristocratic). Male protagonist now a mouthy woman. Token black character, check. Token Asian character, check. Token disabled character, check. Multiple gays, check. Obligatory blather about white/male privilege, check. Obligatory sneer at Brexit, check. Etc, etc, etc...
It’s more entertaining than Woke of the Worlds was though, to be fair.

YOU on Netflix is good..series 1 drags a little, but series 2 makes up for it
Not new by any means, but I recorded the 12 part The First World War on PBS America recently and have watched half of the episodes so far.
Don't let the America bit put you off, this is a UK series, very much in the vein of The World At War, but about the first world war.
As with the ww2 series (I typed the acronym, but decided against it!), it covers a lot of events that tend to be forgotten about (Fighting on the Eastern Front, between the Ottoman empire and the Allies, fighting in Africa and the Japanese involvement) in the general obsession with the Western Front.
There's not as much contempary film, unsurprisingly, but what there is is deeply unsettling and prescient.
If you found The World At War a worthwhile watch, give this one a try if you can find it.

Jon8oy are you based in the US , or if not can you share how you getting to watch it please (mandorian) that is Sent from my SM-N976B using TZ-UK mobile app
Watched both series of Bancroft on catch up, and thought it was a good tale with a couple of unexpected twists.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
It's not new, but I've just discovered "Chuck" on Prime.
So far, absolutely great fun, and five full seasons to enjoy.
This is the kind of show the Americans do so well - great casting, great scripting, great idea and the humour / action is perfectly judged.
Anyone else know this gem?
So clever my foot fell off.
watching the kingdom on Netflix
decent gory zombie stuff set in ancient china.. if you can ignore the dubbing
Watched the first 3 'Dirty money' series on Netflix, the first one on the VW emissions scandal isn't that interesting but the next 2 were fascinating, US payday loan business and then big Pharma and their shenanigans.
Cheers..

I’m enjoying Maltese - The mafia detective on All4 at the mo.
It’s done by the people that did Gomorrah.
Really enjoyed 'Pennyworth' on Starz. Well written, produced, great actors and characters, DC Multiverse with elements of Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian, 60's and 70's (Bloke locked in the stocks guarded by a London Bobby holding an MP40 machine gun with an airship in the background and a Ford Zodiac drives past) and elements of subtle steam punk. Jack Bannon plays a blinder and his accent is subtle but very accurate.
Just watched the first two episodes of James May, Our Man in Japan.
Very enjoyable.
We watched the first ep of BBC's Dracula last night - utter, utter garbage.
We've also started HBO's Succession. We're 5 eps in and it's superb. One of the best character driven dramas I've seen.
Just finished watchmen. Very Different and bloody Brilliant. Could of given up after the first couple of episodes but is a really great show.
We just finished Watchmen last night, agree a great series with good variation across the episodes
Just watched don’t F**k with cats. Wow. Worth a watch if you like this kind of Steven Avery documentary thing.
Also, it may of already been mentioned, for all those of a certain age , you just got to watch Atari:game over. Simply brilliant piece of nostalgia and unbelievable back story to the 70/80’s.

Not sure if I or somebody else has mentioned it before, but I thought Fosse Verdon, available on BBC iPlayer, was very good. An unlikely subject, choreographers Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon: Sweet Charity, All That Jazz, Chicago, Cabaret.
Sharp script, great acting from Sam Rockwell and Michelle Phillips.
They did some quite groovy Austin Powers style stuff.

Just caught-up with Dracula - having read any number of stinking reviews that evidently studiously missed the point (I mean, c'mon - what did anyone expect from Mark Gatiss in particular?), I knew I'd like it, so I hung-up my pedant's hat and it turned out I loved it: thoroughly entertaining schlock.
The advertising billboard was clever, too - https://www.thisiscolossal.com/2020/...one-billboard/
Messiah on Netflix. Roll on series two, if there is to be one. Defo worth a watch.
Gomorrah, Italian Mafia series, excellent so far, it’s in Subtitles but that doesn’t bother me.

Unbelievable - Netflix. Slow to start but worth sticking with. Based on a true story.
Andy
Wanted - Damasko DC57
Another for Unbelievable, great series.
Also Treadstone on Prime has been binged by my wife & I over the weekend, continuation of Jason Bourne type of thing.
James May, ditched after 20mins, was just dull, dull, dull. Other opinions may be out there!

Netflix 3 part documentary,"Don't F*** with cats'.
An internet hunt for an online cat killer, which turns even more sinister.
**Wisting spoiler**
As for Wisting, strangely wrapped up in double quick time, was expecting the ending to be a lot more drawn out!
