I'm really fancying a pair of Barker Calder at the moment.
Had a pair of Fracap Scarponcino's few years back.
Very comfortable and extremely well made boots, but the Vibram soles were absolutely rubbish in the wet.

I love the rugged quality of the Timberland heritage leather.

Made me dig mine out, 30 years old, made in USA, genuine Casper wabi. Unworn for years, but for some reason can’t chuck them. Perhaps I’m saving them for DIY just in case I get around to doing some.
No doubt there’s a collectors’ market and they are worth a fortune!

My Timberland's now ready for another winter after a liberal spreading of Saphir shoe cream. The burnt orange ones are now 12 years old, and still have plenty of years left in them. Just well made, classic looking boots. I wouldn't be without a pair of Heritage 6 inch.
I'm curious if anybody could suggest a source for a boot like this:
Please excuse the picture - it was taken with an Iphone 4s on a very late train from Waterloo a few years ago - the boots were worn an elderly gentleman. I took the photo at the time and remember them looking like an oldish alpine boot in a greenish suede but I may not have been completely sober at the time.
Bought some barbour redhead chukkas a year or so back. really liked them, but they lasted about 1 year of city wear before falling apart (barbour were good enough to offer to replace, but only with what they had in stock, which was only suede with garish trim so they've sat unworn since receiving them).
So I've taken a gun to the local shop for sale or return, and plan to treat myself to some RM williams craftsman comfort.
I’m thinking of giving Hebcotro boots a go https://hebtro.co/product/moto-cxl/).
I’ve got some nice Crockett and Jones Coniston but these are quite posh, the hebtroco look good for on the bike and for kicking around in

Yep they’re really good looking boots, this is the 4th winter I’ve had mine and they’re still going very strong & ageing well etc. worth the money.
Like the other comment I’d avoid the vibram sole versions and get the ridged one instead.

Those green boots look a bit like these

The sandals have been cleaned and put away for the winter, so it's out with some stout leather for the coming months. Timberland, RM Williams and Trickers . . .

Go directly to William Lennon https://www.rufflander.co.uk/
The Field boots are great, you can even draw the profile of your foot on some paper send it to them and they will chose a last to fit.
Custom colors available and different sole options.
Libs Slattery will sort you out.
I quit fancy a pair if William Lennon WW1 boots.
The downside of winter boot time is that some are a nightmare to take on and off when popping by to see your mum. Not sure if this is an acceptable solution.
When I got them they sized on the small side, I’m a 10 in Clarks originals, my Fracap’s are 11’s.
I guess they’re still made the same, but be worth checking out if you are looking at ordering...

Hello Berin
Yes, they are made by William Lennon.
Lots of options if you go directly to them, lined/unlined/contrasting colours/full leather sole/hobnails whatever you fancy price obviously varies on what you specify. 👍🏻
Got a pair of these recently, very comfy and lots of support. Changed the brown laces straight out.

I still enjoy sporting a pair of Docs when the weather turns.
Nice we have the same floor tiles
Has anybody had a problem with the 6 inch classic Timberlands squeaking? Both my pairs now around 2.5 years old have started, loudly! Sending one pair off to be looked at but now looking at Panama Jack's.
That started on my last pair a while back not long after they started letting water in, this was final straw for me with timberlands falling apart in no time, around 3 years ago I moved to panama jacks. In my experience up to now panama jacks have been great and seem to last like timberland used to, I just don’t think timberland are anywhere near as good as they used to be.
Pair of vintage Sorels. I'm pretty chuffed with em.
Mine never failed that quickly or I’d have done the same, I’ve just lost confidence in them so will vote with my feet ;)
Lol old age and it’s your joints squeaking lol, I’ve been really pleased with my panama jacks I own a couple of pairs all holding up fine.
My latest Tricker's, bought in their recent sample sale.
A decade old and like triggers broom 2 new soles
Polished ready for winter
didn’t realise boot cut trousers were back on trend.
Mink oil once a year
This thread has resulted in me receiving a pair of Red Wing 3141 courtesy of the Postie. First impressions are great!
Interestingly though, in searching for where to buy online I came across ‘Offcuts’, a site dedicated to Office/Offsprings returns, ex-display and seconds. I picked the Red Wings up (with ever so slight fading to one) for less than half price.
First i’d heard of this site, so thought it worth sharing.
