Looks like Thursday 3rd October is favoured so far.
Very short notice I know. Have been chatting with Alistair Gibbons who's looking at arranging a watch meet this week. Erica from Erica's originals will be there and probably microbrand owner Charlie Fowler of Alkin watches.
Here's the message Alistair sent me
Erika from Erika Originals strap maker extraordinaire and Alistair Gibbons of ATG watches are doing a road trip of the UK meeting up with retailers and watch minded collectors for a few beers and a chat….as we go… Alistair has a his ‘millionaire’ making book and Erika has some of her strap range that she is taking around with her on this world tour that we can bring along for everyone to have a look at… if you own a book already bring it along and I will sign it… just beers and a low key chat is the idea. We are looking at being around on Thursday 3rd October evening or early doors Friday the 4th. Venue to be arranged but we will be super flexible and looking forward to catching up… cheers Alistair
Please Reply in this thread initially, then we'll look at numbers and venue. Thanks, Jason

I may be working away this week. If not, I’d defo be up for this.
I'm likely to come along all being well.
Thanks for the heads-up. I should be able to make it, sounds like it will be a very informative evening, I hope that there is enough interest to make it happen.
Whatever makes you comfortable. I've only been to one before myself and I'm sure they're all different. Location is still to be decided so we don't know what space we'll have to set out watches or if it will just be mingling and maybe an informal story telling from Erica, Alistair or Charlie. Will aim to communicate in a few days so people know what they want to bring along. Personally, I'll probably be coming from work, so double wristing (not rude) or a small watch roll.
Thanks for Pm Jason with the heads up, unfortunately dates don't work for me.
Cheers,
Ben

I won't be able to make this; I am committed to a social event on Thursday evening.
Thanks for the invite, but already have commitment for Thursday night. Hope it's a great evening, with quality pics!
Looks like we have about 10 so far from this forum, instagram and another forum. At the moment we're looking at a location less than 15 mins drive from the M5/M4 intersection.
Thursday is nearly here so the list is

I'll send venue and time details to the above 3.
Skip and anyone else, I know it was very short notice but there's still time to let me know.
BTW there are a few others coming too but it will be intimate.
Cheers, Jason
I am unlikely to be able to come, but may so for a limited time, can you PM me details please?
Thanks
Dave
Thanks for the PM, would have liked to attended this but we’re out for a family birthday..
Thanks for the PM Jason, unfortunately I cannot make it.
Hope it goes well and take lots of pics please!
Thanks
Mark
Thanks for the invite Jason, I've only just spotted it so not sure if I'll be there.
Would you mind sending me the venue details, and I'll turn up if possible, failing that will definitely be up for the next one.
Thanks & best regards,
Bazz.
A quick note to confirm it's still on for tonight. Numbers approx 12. Alistair and Erica should be there first at around 6.
I don't know what with background noise whether my timegrapher will work but someone asked, so I'll bring it along. Just in case anyone wants to check their watch.
Cheers Jason

Good to meet up last night and looking forward to another in the future. I didn't take a single photo so hopefully some others did. Thanks Jason for arranging
Good to catch up with every one yesterday! Think we should do a pre Christmas one too

Had a very enjoyable time myself - many thanks to Jason etc for arranging. Its not often I can talk watches for a whole evening without boring the pants of everyone around me!!
No pics from me to I'm afraid - except for this one. THE vintage Doxa, owned by Erika's husband, that she made her original MN strap for! (not the original strap) What a lovely woman, and a pleasure to chat to.
Very enjoyable evening with like-minded folk. Some excellent watches on display & I picked up a few mod tips.
Great to meet the legend that is Erika. Would have liked a selfie with her but didn't bring my phone. So no watch pics from me either.
Thanks for organising!
Thanks guys for coming along at such short notice.
Quite a successful evening I think and everyone brought bags of enthusiasm, which is the most important thing. Erica was lovely and I think quite humbled by the success of her watch strap company which has and is going from strength to strength.
The watches were good too of course. Please excuse some of my photos.

Erika of Erika's originals brought a ton of straps and a box with samples of her whole product line of Marine Nationale straps.
She has a new line coming out very soon with even better quality elasticated fabric so if anyone is interested she said to sign up for her news-letter to get notified of when they're available.
Pictured here is also the watch that started it all. Her husband's Doxa Divingstar, for which he (a Doxa collector) asked her to make a strap from parachute webbing.
She hot footed to us straight from watchobsession.co.uk in Aberystwyth, told us some great stories and got involved with the enthusiasm around our tables.

Charlie Fowler Bristol based microbrand owner of Alkin Watches also came along to our evening. He has a new double crown compressor style watch coming out soon in 41mm and with a 28800bph movement.
The new one is better for my 6.5" wrist with a nice feel using the internal rotating bezel crown. Both crowns are screw down.

That Omega Seamaster 300 Big Triangle was rather nice!
...and the last few pics. Thanks again to all who attended from TZUK, some of my Instagram and Facebook contacts. Several people have never been to a GTG and hopefully had a great time. Cheers all and have a great weekend. Jason aka 'tunokies' on Instagram.

Always great to meet fellow enthusiasts.
Lovely watches too.
What is that Hamilton diver? Looks neat.
Bugger shame I missed this I would of fancied going
I'm on the 'pictured' Seiko Passion Facebook group and am adding this here as some local people who went to the Bristol meet last time or couldn't, may see this.
I'm going this Saturday to Deacons and Mark Green is happy for me to ask here but it's limited to 4or 5 more people only.
Send me a DM if you want to come. First 4/5 to reply and I'll confirm your place by DM also.

I can't make it but I think Mike, who used to work with Rocco at Watchworks, now works at Deacons, or at least that is where he left Watchworks to go to.
If he is there send him my regards please?
Cheers
Dave
That would be good. Might be tricky getting a pub to give us a room close to Christmas?? Btw Christopher Ward have something going on a the m-shed in 2 weekends time I think.
Do you know who's in the Swindon area? Maybe I can message them about Deacons

If there is another Bristol area GTG at some point, I'd definitely be interested in attending.
I've never met up with fellow watch enthusiasts face to face before, so I'm used to people thinking you're a nutter if you try to talk to them about their watch...
