    Latest "Bond" Seamaster Professional

I just received this in my inbox: https://www.omegawatches.com/en-gb/w...ampaign=BondLE

Not as excessive as it could have been, but a curious combination of the Bond family coat of arms at 12, a hidden "50" for the 50th anniversary of Bond at the 10 marker, yellow gold hands and markers and a gold plaque on the side?

Not for me, but be quick - only 7,007 available worldwide!

Not a looker, but I'm sure the lure of Ltd edition and 007 will see them sold out in no time!

I really like it compared to most Bond editions. Glad it's 7007 and not 10007 in the edition too.
It's just a matter of time...

I like it but than I am easy to understand lease:-)

An Omega 50th anniversary watch for a movie where Bond wore a Rolex. Erm ok then.

A watch for those who have no interest in watches, but love James Bond.

The whole gun barrel swirl and coat of arms thing ruins what would actually be a decent looking diver.

It's a pity that Omega didn't come up with this marketing brain wave in time for the anniversary of the first 5 films in the franchise, but this should see almost annual LE 007 releases for the coming decades.
We can call this one "The Lazenby".

I can see Omega channelling design cues from gilt dial 50s Rolex subs here in a rather contrived manner . None bracelet , gilted hands/dial. Suprised they haven't whipped out a screen accurate corvus Connery type strap to go with it.

    Love it!
I was due to pick up a Seamaster 300 in blue on Friday!
Just sent OB an email asking if I can move my money over on to this!
If they have sufficient allocated then will be good to go!
Now I need to explain to my better half why I am now spending an additional £1,250 !
    Jeez

Not that bad but I think I'll stick to my old thing.

  13. #13
Why have they chopped up a circuit board and stuck it on the dial?

  14. #14
........i quite like the box.......looks like a Domino Pizza logo at the 12 o'clock, perhaps a subtle reference to the Rolex Air Kings with Domino logos!!

    I don’t like it.

My wife just told me she thinks it’s really nice.

I believe this is what is sometimes referred to as a dilemma

Indeed - at least Bond wore it lol

Agree with above - I have no problem with Bonds LE but they are not for me, however they sure devalue the brand and surprise they do this instead of just sticking to the non branded screen accurate models. How they can associate it with On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is beyond me.

Next they will be giving dosh to Lazenby to model it :)

Couldn't agree with you more. All those special and limited editions are stupid and gimmicky.

Personally, I don't like the current James Blond and his constant duckface in the pictures, either. Haha.

Well I'm not put off by the appearance tbh. It seems like a pretty good watch with a good movement, the aesthetics will either attract or repel. I suppose we'll have all the usual 'oh what are Omega doing now' histrionics but it's still a nice watch in my opinion. It's obviously not an MX5 or a slow worm though.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

I quite like the gun barrel bit, it could have been a nice subtle reference to Bond. That would have been enough, the coat of arms nonsense though, leave it.

I think it looks decent for what it is - im looking to see the RRP though? £5220 ????? THAT IS RIDICULOUS

Not for me really. Still think I just about prefer my 2254, which doesn't really get much wrist time these days. No doubt that the finish and movements on the Seamaster Professional have improved over the last few years, but the prices have gone up significantly. The gold on this one reminds me of some of the Black Bays which can be had for about half the price.

Future Omega anniversary editions, based on how closely their old watches resemble the actual watch that's in the film.

Live and Let Die The distinctive red indices...

The Spy Who Loved Me Memo function replaced tickertape

    A View to a Kill Ana-digi

    Octopussy The TV watch

Before these were posted I was thinking the very same thing. If old bond films and the watches used become the inspiration for the latest models , I though how long will it be before the digital age of Moore rears it's head. I think Craig aspires to the Connery bond, the tight baby blue shorts, NATO's, etc . Sooner or later a comedy bond era is going to be homaged in a well done -good way. I'm not thinking in the later years Brosnan type of way neither which was comedic and yet it was not. Plus it had no decent homaged watches .

I like the dial, the hidden 50, the coat of arms not much, the gold hands unsure, the gold plaque really not at all.
But at that price its a no anyway from me.

Not for me, the gun barrel thing just isn’t for me and they’ve done it before. I like the hidden 50 and the family crest is different, the price is crazy, but what do I know, omega ltd watches are issued more frequently than their technicians takes a dump yet many seem to do very well value wise a little bit down the line.

I’m sticking with buying what I like, not what the over hyped market try’s to get me to buy so that’s a no for this one, preferred the Spectre model

If they strip all the LE Bond gimmicks off the watch and bring just the gold bits to the regular black and blue steel Diver 300 (on bracelet please), I think it'd look better than the current two tone version

I did think this was kind of okay but then I saw the gold plaque shoe-horned onto the side of the case.

Appeals to a certain individual that just wants to look like James Bond and I’ve seen them walk into boutiques asking for the James Bond watch. The Bondier the better for that market.

The shark has been jumped so high and so often I’d be embarrassed to wear an Omega now. Any Omega. Sorry and all that.

    Oh dear, on several levels.
Firstly, it is 52 years since the first Bond film.
    Secondly, that is exceedingly tacky.
    Thirdly, just no.

Being my birth year and quite liking lazenby's bond I want to like the watch, the 'extras' all look ok (to me anyway) except maybe for the plaque thingy on the side. But the price, my god that's daft. I'm not a big fan of Omega in the first place but that's just silly.

It is 57 years since the first Bond film.
This watch is to celebrate 50th anniversary of a particular film which was released in 1969.

    I just don't get gold on a sports/dive watch.

However as Rolex have also done it with the SD50 it goes to show that either both brands know the market or they haven't a clue when it comes to taste.

Omega knows the market and they are catering for those who like to wear shoes with a compass in the heel.

One for the collectors I think.
I'm a big Bond fan and I have a couple of Omega's but I wouldn't wear a watch with Bond branding. Each to their own though.
One thing I do like is the date font. I wonder is it just the 7 or are all of the numbers in that style.

You are quite right regarding Dr No (I think it was) in 1962. I stand corrected.

Notwithstanding, this “LE” is truly awful.

    I agree.

Sadly Rolex are just getting started with this nonsense via their Tudor brand.
