Hi
The Helmets are class watches.!
Remember to keep that chrono running, its best for the movement

I have been looking for a good Seiko automatic chrono for some time and came across this one on our very own Sales Corner.
It's a mid-70s model and since we were married in 1977, I thought it would be very suitable as an anniversary present from my wife.
Well, it arrived today (30 July) , which is our 31st wedding anniversary, so I couldn't ask for more.
I wasn't very sure how the "helmet" would look on my wrist, but it is very comfortable and not as bulky as I thought.
I love it.
Thank you Ana and thank you Geoff (goraidh) for a great transaction.
Last but not least, thanks to TZ, who made it possible. :)

Funny you should say that deano.Originally Posted by deano42

There is, in fact, no running seconds register on this movement (6139-7100).
Are you sure it's OK to keep the chrono running? Most chrono makers do not advise this.
Cheers,
Congrats on a great looking piece.
I've also heard that keeping the chrono running on these vintages Seiko's is a good idea!
/vince ..
Really?
That is a really good looking watch, the case design is very 70's Omega like, eg Fightmaster, Mark III etc. Wear and enjoy
What was wrong with the '77 I have for sale????
Looks good, enjoy it! :)
Respect the past, live the present, protect the future
I heard that seiko's had a clutch drive to the chrono second hand, with the spring relaxed when the clutch is engaged and thus the hand is turning, as opposed to the usual (swiss) gear mechanism, where very fine teeth on the chrono spindle get worn interacting with the relatively coarse teeth on the drive cog.Originally Posted by CPF
Oh right. Makes sense that!Originally Posted by in_denial

Nice watch, great story. Wear it good health.
Nice watch! Don’t let Glamdring see it! I know he is looking for one!
