Got to say, the place has been a lot more pleasant without him around.
It appears he hasn't posted since February!
Not that I miss him you understand, I'm just wondering.
Got to say, the place has been a lot more pleasant without him around.
He got banned did he not? But I’ve heard rumours that he’s back in another guise.
He's about somewhere
Tried to lowball me on a watch a few months back.
He's around under a new ID, provided he continues to behave there's no reason to 'out' him.
In the garden trying to tan those hairy arms? Or maybe I'm getting confused with Howdy...
I think Ally is Benji053 these days, after a brief spell as DA56.
I disagree with Paul here - people should have the absolute right to know who they’re dealing with.
Each to their own but think you should just have one ID and if there is a technical issue then by all means use another one but be honest and upfront about who you actually are and or were.
Agree, could get around ‘villain’ posts by creating second identity.
(No evidence of such a motive here I should add.)
For those with access, it's probably worth keeping an eye on this thread:

I’m Brian and so is my wife...😂
The artist formally known as Ally isn’t here anymore. So don’t get worked up.
Call me ‘sentimental’ but I miss VolvomanUK. He was genuinely great company at the McrGTGs...
Hmmm.
Most people who were accused of being a witch weren't one. Actually, I am pretty sure none of them was. So stating that calling someone a racist is the modern equivalent of calling someone a witch pretty much means that you believe that most of those accusations aren't true? Hence my question.
Someone who lies about the little things will lie about the big things too.
Oh Ally where art thou?! Actually, very well done for staying away.
Edit: Meh..

Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
If you continually criticise someone, you just harden attitudes, nothing changes and the problem remains.
Just forget he existed and if he has come back as someone else and is behaving himself then it's a win-win.
Also some of Ally's biggest critics are mild racists in their own right. I have been called a drunken ex pat dozens of time. It is a form of racism to lable thousands of retired Brits in the sun as permantly boozed up. They are, in reality, people who worked hard to get where they are and are nearly always very well behaved. It is no different from calling all the Irish thick, the French smelly or the Scots mean with with their money.
Hypocracy reigns supreme on this issue and conducting an online pillorying of Alley is a symptom of it.
True.
Some think it's prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior. Others think it's a nice pork sausage.
Totally innocent misunderstanding, happens all the time.
Someone who lies about the little things will lie about the big things too.
Yes you are the perfect racist hypocrit.
You make a snide stereotype remark because my wife and I consume a bottle of wine during our evening meal lasting on average 90 minutes. We are never tipsy and that applies to 99% of ex pats.
You just apply those racist overtones to someone whom you dislike and that, quite frankly, makes you a bit of a racist.
Time you looked at your own behaviour.
If you scroll up two posts you will find that the definition of being racist involves having views on somebody based on their race.
My views about you are however entirely based on your constant waffling and self-contradiction, so not racist.
I will however recognise that you have realised that I don't like you, not bad for somebody who drinks alcohol every evening. May I suggest you do the drinkaware self-assessment in order to have some qualified feedback about your drinking habits?

I think there may be some confusion between racism and personality piss-taking. One is based on race, one is based on personality, or lack of …
Sorry because you disagree or dislike someone does not give you the right to make racist comment on British ex pats being permanently boozed up. Disliking me is fine, that is your right, to to make a stereotype statement that I am a typical boozed up expat is insulting to hundreds of thousands of decent people.
It is sterotyping in its worst form, and sorry it makes you a latent racist which is probably the most dangerous and insidious.
Like I said, it is time you reviewed your own behaviour.
Might not be nice to call/stereotype someone a drunken expat but I'm really struggling to see the racism in it.
What's the stereotype about Scottish people being tight with the money or the Irish being "thick micks" got to do with drunken expats? Are the English the only ones allowed to be drunken expats, is that why it's being considered racist?
For what it's worth I don't think there is any subjectivity on the subject, Ally was clearly a racist.
They are indeed, aren’t they.
ADDED 11.10.19 - My reply to the post below was deleted and I was banned for a week for losing my temper with this vile racist/russophobe and a duplicitous LIAR as could be seen from his posts below.

The chap is obsessed with Russia and Russians (linked conspiracy theories), if anyone is in doubt just look at the Trump thread in the BP. Mind boggles. Pity the forum owner decided to leave his post with the vile insinuations to remain while mine was deleted.Vladimir[1] (Russian: Влади́мир[1]) is a male Slavic given name of Old Slavic origin, now widespread throughout all Slavic nations (in different spellings).
The Old Russian form of the name is Володимѣръ Volodiměr, the Old Church Slavonic one Vladiměr. According to Max Vasmer, the name is composed of Slavic владь vladĭ "power" and *mēri "great" (related to Gothic element mērs, -mir, c.f. Theodemir, Valamir). The modern (pre-1918) Russian forms Владимиръ and Владиміръ are based on the Church Slavonic one, with the replacement of мѣръ by миръ or міръ resulting from a folk etymological association with миръ "peace" or міръ "world".[2]The post-1918 reformed spelling Владимир drops the final -ъ, but the (unetymological) spelling -миръ or -міръ predates the orthographic reform, indicating the folk etymological interpretation of the name as "world owner" or "peace owner".

So 'ex-pat' is a race. Who knew?
Stereo typing is a form of racism. If, say, the Irish are continuously ridiculed for being thick, the result is that mud sticks and they find it more difficult to get a decent job because they have to overcome the image of being thick. In Europe it is the Belgians who are labled thick purly as a good natured joke but it's not so nice when you are a Belgian.
The term boozed up British expats is a direct attack on hundreds of thousands of decent retired people who work hard to get where they are and are never ever seen drunk. It is racially based and it is bloody offensive.
It is a term used regularly in the BP and will be defended as banter but these same people then use the lable against someone else. They are being hypocritical and they know it.
