drink :D
Hello Gents,
This may sound like a stupid question but I was just checking my Rolex oyster date against the GMT site (this is the one I use to set my watches)to see how much time it had gained/lost in the last 4 days. For those that are interested it has gained 5 seconds :D :D :D
Any way back to the question, I reset the watch, flicked back to the TZ and noticed that Eddies clock is 10 seconds faster than my watch.
So I had a search on the old interweb and found that the timeanddate.com site is showing 6 seconds faster than the GMT site and 4 seconds slower than Eddies.
So the question is what is the correct time? or do I just need a drink.
All the best
Steve
drink :D
Respect the past, live the present, protect the future
I think this comes up about once a month and the answer is still the same. The time displayed by the forum clock is the time taken from your own computer. If your computer time is wrong, then the forum time is wrong.

And you need a drink :POriginally Posted by swanbourne

Thanks gents,
I think I answered my own question. I need a drink. :D :D :D
The question was more why the two separate sites indicate different times, maybe they are both wrong, a few pints of guinness and I wont care anyway.
All the best

There's no way of knowing how many servers the signal went through to reach you. One might be in London the other might be on a small Pacific island or some such.Originally Posted by Revolvingjones

This has a reputation for accuracy:

But I tend to use the 'pips' on the radio to check/sync my watches (but not on my digital radio  )

I use http://www.time.gov the official time according to the US government. Apparently accurate to a third of a second.
3 seconds 'out' here in Devon; you Zummerzet boys are nearer to the transmitter, though.Originally Posted by ben4watches
