    Servicing Tips

    Evening forum!

Very simple request from me today.

In the past, depending on the watch, I've used either Rolex St James or Steve Burrage at Rytetime for servicing a few of my watches. I understand that Steve B has been winding down his involvement in servicing, and these aren't Rolexes, so I'm looking for some new recommendations.

I have a 2824-powered DateJust-alike requiring a new crystal and a service; and a Seiko Monster requiring a service only (running, but losing lots of time).

So - without further ado - who should I send them to?

    Cheers!

I am probably in the minority here but always send my watches to the manufacturer’s service centre for both service and repair.

Not the cheapest way but gives me peace of mind.

As opposed to piece of mind.

    Thanks gents.

Perhaps I should have been clearer - the 2824 is a vintage Sandoz, who I doubt would be around to service these legacy models, and the Seiko I guess could be returned to Seiko UK.

However, an independent is just as good, if they come recommended!
