Bear in mind it's the weekend now. I forget how long eBay gives sellers to issue a refund after getting goods back but I'd have thought that nothing can/will happen until the weekend is over.
It's only been a few days, nothing like long enough to allege fraud as yet. It's all just a civil matter as things stand.
Can you name them? In one post you mentioned you thought it might be someone on here.
i don't want to mention any names until I have this sorted out. There may be a genuine reason for the current total lack of response to my communications. Some members have already located the transaction and so know the Ebay identity of the seller, (and he appears to have a flawless history). However, if there isn't a genuine reason for all of this and basically a fraud is being committed against me then I will certainly name and shame. I believed he was a member here because he mentioned Eddie's name in one of his communications - however it turns out he is actually a member of the Rolex forum. As soon as this is all sorted I will post the outcome - but still ongoing at the moment.
Oh well, better late than never.
Just received this from the seller:
Hi Tom
I am away for weekend. But have had neighbours collect parcel.
You will be refunded by Sunday evening no problem.
Thanks for message about serial no’s.... does not sound ideal!!
Sounds good - but given the circumstances you would have thought that a quick check on the status of this would have been in order ...
... and I can now end this quite stressful tale, (for me in any case). as I have now received a full refund - Hallelujah!
As it turns out the seller was totally on the level, as suggested by his impeccable Ebay history, but he just put me through the wringer by failing to tell me he was going away and not replying to my communications for a few days, (when both cash and watch were in his possession).
All hopefully now sorted, and I have a PRS-21 incoming today! (I am going to leave LLD ownership on hold for a little while now).
:o)
One last parting shot on this thread for all owners of Legend Divers out there - check that the case back discloses a serial number. According to Longines all LLDs should disclose one, and as in my case, if you can't see one there is likely to be an issue with the provenance of the watch.
Excellent, glad you got your money back. And glad that the seller was legit. :-)
Glad all sorted but is he really legit - did he know of watch issues? Could well be stolen.
I know - but I like to see the best in people. Everything pointed to him being legitimate; Ebay history, communications, speaking to him over the phone, the fact that he has a clock restoration business, (which I came across on-line), etc. It may be his 'source' who needs to be scrutinised. He told me he had returned the watch himself and his 'source' was more than happy with that. I suppose the main issue is advertising a watch 'as new' when the case back clearly indicated otherwise. I should have been more vigilant and picked up on that from the pictures before moving forward - but we all live and learn!
