Absolutely, sounds like a great idea. Which one though?

Hope I have not duplicated a running thread...
I will be wearing my Speedy from the 16th-24th in celebration of the 50th anniversary, anybody here planning to do likewise?
Cheers :-)

Check out all 4 moon landing live.
african male names meaning king
Great idea! I'll be wearing mine.
Thanks guys , it’s always been pretty cool growing up with an affinity to such a momentous event.
Was going to buy a 40th Anniversary model ten years ago but decided a birth year ‘69 model would make more sense rather than commemorating one particular anniversary. Bought at the right time too as they were really affordable back then but considerably less so now.
Cheers
Neil
I'm wearing mine at the moment, but have been slightly unfaithful with some of its relatives!

"A man of little significance"
Interesting article here on how the Speedmaster came to be chosen by NASA as it's official certified astronauts watch

Yep, been wearing mine all last week and will be doing so all through the anniversary period!
This is an idea that appeals to my geeky nature
So it’s wound and set.
I have to wear a suit for the next few days but it’s staying on the Kizzi.
:-)
Wearing mine today.
And a lunar eclipse tonight in the sky over The Netherlands (dunno about the UK)

Edit: UK as well! https://www.express.co.uk/news/scien...-stream-latest
Remarkable that nature is showing its special moments when there's something special going on about the first moon landing. Remember Neil Armstrong's funeral day being on the day of a Blue Moon? And it was one of those days that the distance between the moon and the earth was relatively small. That was a big moon as well!

Yes, put mine on today and will wear it until the 24th :-)
Nice idea, likewise put mine on today and will wear for the duration. Every time I look at my wrist I’ll remember that mind-boggling achievement taking place fifty years ago.
Of course
Leaning on a lamppost at the corner of the street...
I've always admired Michael Collins as the "forgotten" Apollo XI astronaut. His account of the mission is the best book written by the three of them.
I didn't know he was a lefty, but on doing some research it appears that about 40% of the astronauts were. The tash was a mistake though and didn't last long.
I’m wearing mine too.
And Speaking about Michael Collins here’s a good fact for you.
Collins took this photo of the Lunar Module, containing Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong with Earth in the background, during the Apollo 11 mission.
He is the only human, alive or dead that isn't in the frame of this picture. Even if you were born after this picture was taken, the materials you’re made from are still on the frame of this picture.
To me this is mind blowing !
I’m wearing mine, and off to see ‘Apollo Eleven’ this afternoon. Well, it’s raining.
So, who made the spacesuits.....Playtex, the bra manufacturer. They still do.

Been wearing my numbered edition for the last few days. Feels quite special at the moment and reminds me of what a classic looking watch it is.
Mine has been in the box since it was delivered earlier this year - awaiting my birthday next month...
Took it out to remove the bracelet & pop it on a nato ready for the hols
The whole moon landing celebrations will all be over by the time I get to wear mine
I'm like a kid at Christmas - I can’t wait - for the hols ... and the watch.

I was not wearing mine all week but today it goes on the wrist to celebrate.
Unfortunately I don’t have a NASA style velcro so it stays on bracelet.

Quick and lazy on the train.
Remembered to pick it up this morning.
Now that is a cracking thing to still have after 50 years! As a kid I had a large poster on my wall of Apollo 11, it had this image plus another and half a dozen smaller ones on the bottom of it, so wish I still had it and I have never seen another dispite years of looking.
Cheers
I have enjoyed wearing my speedy for the last 4 days, but today is the special one for me :-)
Popped my anniversary Speedie on today. Loving today’s date being on the dial. Seems more perfect than any other time I’ve worn it.

Thats a bit special, one of the few specials I would love to own.
which year was it sold?
It’s a 2004 watch. LE of 3500. I agree, it’s one of, if not the, prettiest Speedmasters.
I bought it off eBay in 2007 for £1750.
