I read yesterday that netflix are going to do a series based on Neil Gaimans hugely imaginative 'Sandman' comic series, this could be amazing IF they get it right. Something to look forward to.

Just finished Chernobyl. A superb, unsettling cautionary tale for everyone.
Also just finished a binge of line of duty. Hugely tense, twisty and entertaining. Can't wait for next series.

Stranger Things Season 3 was released today
Also Dark season 2 is available - I enjoyed S1 alot.
Not sure if this has been mentioned and its a little late but apparently Designated Survivor season 3 started on netflix 7th June.
Just started Pine Gap on Netflix, took a while to get going but it’s shaping up nicely, tense political USA/Australia surveillance drama.
Cheers..

We watched The Expanse on Amazon, seems to coming to back, worth a look if you like sci-fi.
Excellent new series JETT just started in the U.S. on Cinemax - - don't know if it's available, or will be available, in the UK.
Carla Gugino is a high-end thief who just finished a five-year prison stint and now wants to go straight and take care of her daughter. Unfortunately, some powerful bad guys "insist" on her remaining active.
Catch 22 is fantastic, Channel 4
tbh I thought that initially but I've also recently started re-reading the book and I now appreciate how poor the series is wrt to novel. In fact I got half way through episode 3 and gave in. To be fair, if you hadn't read the book you'd probably think it was okay/good however isn't this often the way when books are ported over the the big (or small) screen? :-(
I read the book at school as part of my GCSE back in 1973. The series uses the premise of Yo Yo wanting to get out of completing his mission quota (ever extending) little else relates. I personally am enjoying the show more than the book, maybe I'll read it again as I was only 15?
Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Has anyone heard when series 2 is being released?
Series 1 was superb in a very funny, laid-back kinda way.
Finally gotten around to watching Killing Eve. 5 episodes in and all I can say is - wow! What a show. So original, funny and at times strange.
Yes probably Eddie, it was the same with Animal Farm & On the Beach. Good soldier Sveijk was another on the curriculum.
I read Fleming from 13 to 14 along with the Godfather, the pages were carefully folded for revisiting purposes!

Later this year I believe
"On the Beach" is a book that really stuck with me.
I read a lot of Neville Shute in my early 20s (very readable, if a bit dated in style, which is probably why he's very overlooked these days), but the sheer bleak hopelessness of that book is something that few books have matched in my experience.
Sadly, like 1984, it seems more relevant every time I switch on the news!

Really enjoying OA at the moment, just started series two. Its very different
Just starting a show on Amazon Prime called The Boys. Really interesting look at the superhero genre, very messed up, violent and funny. Really enjoying it so far and well worth a look!

another vote for 'the boys' - reminds me of watchmen .
Just finished season 1 of big little lies. Enjoyed it, good cast and plot.
Stranger things S3 - entertaining enough but lacks suspense and intrigue of previous seasons - 7/10
Killing Eve S2 - matched humour and excitement of S1 - 8.5/10

I just finished watching The Boys on Amazon. Only one series so far but thoroughly worth a watch. Karl Urban is great in it.
Not for kids though.
Not new, but I’m finally catching up with Atlanta via Apple TV / iPlayer and it’s well worth a look. Who knew there was a genre somewhere between The Wire and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Just started a comedy on Amazon called 'Loudermilk'. A little bit near the knuckle in places but some real LOL moments.

Another vote for 'The Boys' on Prime; very entertaining!
I just watched my first episode of The Boys. Found it to be good, but rather felt they were dropping us in at the deep end - character backstories must be coming a bit later, I thought. Got to the end of the episode, and was rather surprised at the death of a major character and a rather big plot reveal. Then realized that my oldest had watched the whole series already, and I'd just watched the final episode. Ho hum.
Yet another vote for The Boys. Really entertaining and a nice break from the saccharin sweet marvel universe that, after Endgame, has left me totally disappointed.
Black noir is hilarious... and, if he turns out to be the same as in the comic, we have a ride ahead of us...
Yea watched the first episode of series two the other night. The show is very human, carefully edited. PW has an edge to him, you can tell at times BM annoys him. Sharing his passion with an extreme novice irritates the hell out of him.
Both men are my age so I relate to their health issues, humour and feelings of 'past their sell by date'. Just very good understated British television at its very best!
I’ve just re-watched “Broken” on Netflix.
Originally on BBC a few years ago.
Staring Sean Bean as a catholic priest in a northern town, battling inner demons
from his childhood whilst trying to do his best for his parishioners problems.
Really well acted and worth a watch.
I thought the Boys was great, series 4 of Preacher has just started too, and the beginning of episode 2 I found very amusing because I am a child.
(I was at school with Garth, the writer of the comic books both these series are based on. I once drew a 3 panel comic called "Garth Ennis - We Go To The Same School" in 5th form, I think, and I believe he might still have it).

I was taken with Bob talking about his childhood and losing his father in a car crash when Bob was so young.
Usk looked beautiful. Was recently on the neighbouring Brecon-Monmouth canal.
Also the same age, so perhaps tugging the sentimentality of older men? I wouldn't call myself sentimental, but I really enjoy this programme, Timothy and Prue's canal trips and Portaloo's train journeys. As you say, human, understated, wanderings, individual exploration and discovery.
