I am lucky that our nearest pub is the Highbury Vaults (which any redsident in Bristol will know), and if you can venture 20m further you get to Beer'd (Craft beer and pizza - sounds hipster but is actually fantastic) or one of the Brewhouse chain, which makes great beer.
If only I had more time to be in any or all of them...........
Dave
The three I visit in town are . . .
The Dun Cow, for Castle Eden Ale
The Half Moon, for Draught Bass
The Victoria, for Raven Stout
Of course all of them for a good chinwag.

This is our old local in Andover...
I do miss it sometimes, even though we have loads more choice now we’re more suburban.

Just popped to my old local in Wendover, The Red Lion, love a pint of Fullers London Pride.
Not stricly my closest but I will generally have a beer here.
Whichever pub you go in the most is what id class as your local.
I lived in Ruislip for 5 years, and only went in one pub there, the one at the end of the high street just down from CS Bedford.
I always tended to go to Ickenham, Coach and Horses great on a nice day, but queues way to long at the tiny bar, and then there was good old spooneys.
White Bear was my closest, but to many work colleagues in there, all talking shop!
The Harrow at Steep. Not strictly local to me (I live 20 miles away) but it's the best pub in the country and I go there as often as possible.

The Compasses at Littley Green. A lovely Country pub in rural Essex. Owned by a descendant of Ridley’s Brewery At Hartford End which sadly sold out to Green King but Ridley’s lives on as Bishop Nick. Still serving their incredible ‘Huffers’ too (massive rolls to folk not from these parts).

Jesus, I think I may have been here. Was a few years back, was out to watch the rugby with a couple of friends. Australia vs Ireland (both said friends being Irish). Much later, things got a little... hazy. I have some vague memory of drinking something out of a small metal teapot?
Walking distance from my house Jack’s Fountain , no walls or doors but it does have a flat roof.
Side view is less attractive.
They do have these mini kegs of Heineken served in frozen plastic glasses which is not as completely awful as it sounds .
2 beers somewhere over a half but no where near a pint just cost $16 inc a small tip .

That's an Austin Healey 3000 or some sort I think.
1960s class
You’d be crazy to buy an authentic one now; high prices for everything even remotely Healey related.
Mate of mine has a Sebring replica with a Ford V6 (iirc) that is simply incredible for a fraction of the price.

Did any Edinburgh folk ever go in the Holyrood Tavern back in the day? I used to love that place during my student days.
Superb photo, is it one of yours?
I lived a couple of doors away in my uni days, absolutely loved the place
Haven’t been for years - is the gents still configured so that if you’re not careful you could slip on the wet floor and slide right into the urinal?? Never actually happened to me but always felt it was only a matter of time/pints!
One of last traditional pubs left in Basingstoke , turn left out of the Train Station 100yrds, the pub has no foundations and sits on clay
Note the lovely 80s office block plonked right next to it !!, apart from the 2 Spoons in the town centre , the only pub doing real ale these days and a bottle of Light Ale

The Dreel Tavern in Anstruther.
18th century coaching inn, with a great selection of local gins and real ales. Exceptionally good food, and a cracking (or actually, crackling) real fire in the winter. A jolly cosy place to be, and a 10 minute walk along the harbour, from home!
