All done by hand by the world's smallest paintbrush... that isn't too bad if you don't squint at it under a microscope. I guess at the end of the day it's still a mass produced watch right?
Probably foolish of me to look too closely but I would have expected a cleaner finish of the green GMT hand. Still a nice watch though and I guess you will find imperfection in
Any luxury item!

I would say that's pretty underwhelming. If you saw that on a magnifier on a Grand Seiko, people wouldn't think it acceptable so I think that should the standard set for a Rolex

I will have it corrected at the next service. Bought the watch in the UK (Goldsmiths) and am living in Australia now so would be a bit of a hustle to raise as an issue. I wouldn’t say it’s a big deal as it’s very hard to see with the naked eye but would have expected more from Rolex.
I would expect better than that from Rolex.
The watchfinder video cited the precision in colour, paint and Finnish as a way of determining a fake so I assumed they where all perfect.
Had you just watched this and had a look at your GMT after?

Had a look at the video and the red GMT hand certainly does not look too impressive either
I still think it’s a rock solid watch and in many respects excellent, just not in terms of the hand painting. It does seem like it’s a job for human beings with tiny little brushes and maybe some of them need their eyesight testing
When I first saw this thread started I wondered when the first GS comparison would be thrown in. If you saw the batons on the GS posted on here a few years back and how GS treated the customer over it you may think twice. I can even point to a Seiko I had serviced that come back with a nice thumb print on the rotor.
Look under a microscope at a watch and you are bound to find things you wish you hadn't.
That huge wasp on the crystal in the other photo a prime example.
So you agree then. We don't accept it from GS so shouldn't accept it from Rolex

No, I’m saying one was knackered and Seiko didn’t want to know. The one I had was a botched service by Seiko I had to rectify at my own expense (like the other guy did with the knackered dial). The other is just a slightly poor paint job that can only be seen under a microscope.
Not sure how you reached the other conclusion but oh well......
I was a bit surprised when I spotted this under magnification recently. Probably more common than you'd think.
Puts anew spin on ‘Superlative’ for sure 😉
