Roman makes it look more dressy and classic. Arabic more tool like and modern. Think the Roman pips it for me

Been looking at Stowa lately and have been a long term fan of the Marine watch (Unitas hand wound).
Cant decide which I prefer in terms of Roman numerals or Arabic.
Which is the most classic/original?

Arabic for me. Their VI-VIII have always appeared misbalanced to me. Might be an optical illusion but it put me off.

Arabic as romans are the worst feature any watch can have.
In my opinion of course.
Good luck with deciding, they're a great watch.
Roman only seems to work on specific watches. This is not one of them. I think it’s because the watch is too large. Arabic all the way.
edit - this is where Roman numerals works!!!

Another vote for Arabic.

For me, Roman works well with some dress watches (esp guilloche Breguet dress watches - I have a 7027ba and a 7147bb); for sporty/everyday watches, like the Stowa Marine, I'd go for Arabic. However, your watch, your taste!
The watch is based on a Stowa pocket watch with Arabic numerals. So Arabic is most classic/original.

Having said that, other companies produced this style of watch with Roman numerals.
I have the MO with Arabic numerals shown above and quite like it. Were I getting a Marine auto (a much smaller and dressier watch) I would likely get Roman numerals, I think it is quite handsome.

Looks like the consensus is for the Arabic.
I’ve noticed they do a solid silver dial which seems like a nice and relatively inexpensive upgrade. Anyone seen this dial in the flesh?
I went Roman as I felt it was more historically correct for marine watches
Apologies for delay. Yes it is very elegant and light. I went for the manual wind. I swapped out the stowa black leather strap with martu vintage thin calf leather strap and really like it. It's amazing how light it feels compare to my steinhart vintage gmt or even gshock all metal
For the Marine Original then I'd go for Arabic, in fact I did By coincidence I took this 'photo yesterday.
Stowa M.O.
The black dial M.O. doesn't look too bad with Roman numerals however I think I'd still choose Arabic.
Definitely arabic, but then I'm a little biased!!
Marine original with Silver dial.

I bought an Archimede four years ago from SC to try the style and size when I had a fancy for a Dornbluth. I've never felt the need to change, in part because of the 20mm lugs vs the norm of 22mm. However I often hanker after a swan neck regulator, and if I did change up it would be a Stowa with the silver dial.

Pleased with my choice:

Stunning watch - those slender blue hands are beautiful (or white hands as the case may be!)
Mine posted earlier in this thread is the solid silver dial. I sold my blue LE dial as I preferred the silver.
Looks and feels lovely on the wrist.
