As long as they don't have the Rolex engraved rehaut, i agree fully. Cracking watch
Just a line to share some pictures of the 14060M submariner.
Made from 2007 until 2012 so just 5 years which is a short production run compared to such models as the 5513 or 5512.
It’s different to the 14060 as it has an upgraded movement 3130, which has several major evolutions compared to the previous sub.
The four lines of text is also a good reminder of the 5512.
All in all it’s a good candidate for the next vintage Sub after the mythical 5513.

This one has it unfortunately. Can’t remember what year they started doing that. 2007 no?
This one still have serial numbers that you can date :)

There lovely looking watches, I have the (older) 14060 from 1996, yes it’s the older movement but keeps to less than 1sec a day when worn, perfect size in diameter and thickness too, are we using the term classic or vintage!!
uWhat was upgraded about the movement? I know the 14010M was COSC certified, but did Rolex really do anything different? Poising the balance to a higher standard is the obvious one, but that’s hardly a modification!
I owned one for a while, I couldn’t get it to fit nicely on my square 6.75” wrist, couldn’t get the 6 side short enough.
Unless I’m mistaken I think they all have the engraved rehaut, which won’t suit some folks. Personally I don’t see why they should be more desirable than the earlier version, the COSC rating doesn’t mean much in my eyes, but the Rolex sports market is anything but logical and folks will look fir any little detail to make a fuss over.
Both classics, in my eyes.
Similarly- with the non-date version, which appears an even ‘cleaner’ design.
These models are the newest I would ever wear. (But not with the engraved rehaut)
The 14060M started in 1998 with the 3130 movement. These were two-liners. It was the COSC 4-liner that started in 2007.
The aluminium bezels on these older subs look so much better to me than the ceramic ones used now. Makes a huge difference.
The movement was the same between the two line and four line, just that COSC certification hadn't been confirmed then. The four liners state COSC, but with the same movement as in the two line.
Edit: Fabulous looking watch. Upgrade this with glidelock, and it might be the definitive sub. Altohugh the latest model has some great upgrades, I just can't get with the square lugs and ceramic bezel.
Nice, but tbh a bit bland.
I have a soft spot for these. I bought a 14060M from this forum over 10 years ago now. A nice two-liner and of course no engraving on the rehaut. It still remains unpolished and very rarely worn. Nothing I’d want to change about this model.
The earlier ‘two line’ incarnations weren’t COSC certified.
The modifications were a full balance bridge, a larger balance wheel and a breguet overcoil.
Again, the engraved rehaut was something that was introduced in the later years of this model.
Truly gorgeous Rolex!

2 line no date is as clean as your going to get on a Sub.

Totally agree OP. It's a modern classic and the last of the old school sports Rolex. I bought mine brand new from an AD back in 2011 for a discounted £3600 and its probably my best watch buy ever.
It’s a beauty but they’ll never reach the heights of the subs without metal hour markers (like the 5513 above). That’s where it’s at for me aesthetically. Just hope Tudor get round to the same setup in the near future, seeing the dial on that new contraption at Basel gives me hope.
Here is mine, still hasn’t grown on me but I keep it for the sake of the collection

The 14060 is one of my favourites.Might have to wear it more than I have since buying it!.
The 4 liner is my favourite Submariner after ty he 16610LV. Just a great watch, with the right balance of modern and old for my liking.
I wouldn't swap one for a 5513, but I'm sure I'm in a minority.
It's just a matter of time...
My favourite of the more modern Subs. Cracking watch!
I love mine. Rattley bracelet included!
I definitely have to have a Submariner soon, and the 14060m seems to be the one I will have. Just couldn’t be doing with the exaggerated shoulders on the six digits.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
I read about the hollow end links and rattling bracelet prior to buying my 14060 and I have to be honest and say I don’t find any of those assumptions on my watch.
The HEL’s look good, keep the weight down and fit extremely well, as for rattling I just don’t get it as I wear my watch so it’s a nice easy fit without being tight or loose, a loose watch will rattle but it will also wear your links out quicker.
I have a V serial 14060m which I love, but rarely wear. I suppose the rarely wearing bit is useful for conservation but I prefer the SELS of the 16610.
I've had a few 5513's over the years - they didn't do anything for me - I could always be tempted by an old lollipop dial, but apart from that there is no attraction. I have tried many vintage Rolex watches over the years and i'm more than happy to stay in my comfort zone of the watches from my youth rather than going completely vintage, so mostly sapphire onwards for me.
I did have most dial variants of the 14060's at one stage apart from the exotic Comex etc. versions and for me the 4 liner is by far the nicer watch - I currently have a couple and neither is likely to ever be sold during my life time.
It's just a matter of time...
