Velvet Buzzsaw
Beautifully shot, brilliant cast and actors...ruined by making it supernatural. Became more of a 'Final Destiny' film unfortunately.
Sicario 2, enjoyed it more than the first one.

I know it's been out a good while but I watched First Man last night and thought it was really good.
Not your typical Hollywood true story.
The 12th Man. Wow. Fantastic film. So uncomfortable at times but engrossing nonetheless.
Based on a true story set in WW2 Norway.
Not a new film, but I have been meaning to watch Anthropoid for while, since visiting the crypt in Prague where there is a memorial to the same event.
The film is not amazing in every aspect by any means, but it is quite poignant, particularly if you have visited the place involved as well. Well worth a watch, but it is no blockbuster movie and doesn't try to be. It is quite slow to get going, but stick with it as it gets better.
I was also rather ashamed to say that I had no idea what the Munich Agreement was before I watched the film either.

Bad Times at the El Royale
Green book. Magically capturing the era portrayed. Reminded me of a Bronx tale without the Mafia portion. Central actors were excellent.

Saw Liam Neeson in his latest revenge drama. Worth the price.
Alita - Battle Angel. Worth the price of admission for the gratuitous but frustratingly fleeting sight of Jennifer Connelly in stockings and suspenders.
Polar on Netflix. Over the top and you’ll either love it or hate it. Mads Mikkelsen is very good.

Went to see Green Book last night, really enjoyed it!
Watched "American Animals" which in their words was in not based on a true story but is a true story, and a good one at that.
Watched the Revenant yesterday. Really good film. I think Di Caprio is one of these actors of his generation.
His portrayal of Howard Hughes was absolutely Oscar-worthy.
The Guilty.
Great thriller with a great twist.
Green Book. Good movie. Worth the trip to the cinema
Took a walk down memory lane to my childhood and watched Southern Comfort last week. My childhood was not spent in a swamp and I'm not a Cajun Indian. I just watched the film a lot when I was younger.
Anyway, great film. I prefer it to the oft-compared Deliverance..
I watched Cold Pursuit tonight....I didn't have particularly high expectations. It had some dodgy overacting and the odd pointless character but overall I quite enjoyed it. There was some amusing black humour as well.
Mortal Engines (2018)
Plot: In a post-apocalyptic world where cities ride on wheels and consume each other to survive, two people meet in London and try to stop a conspiracy. more

Watched yesterday. A really great movie, not what you call a true Sic-Fi film... but it is certainly a true fantasy genre movie,
could not ask better of the acting, interesting story line. 7/10 ;)
Wrong film thread

Pre-emptive post.
I’m having a pint, about to go see Alien at the cinema, 40th anniversary showing. Worth checking your local cinema if you never got to see it the first time. I was a month away from being born!
Watched Incendies during the week. Nicely done and doesn't give too much away at first.
Just watched Bohemian Rhapsody, what a great film and immense talent he was!
Behind the Curve on Netflix. An insight into the Flat Earth Society's main protagonists. Quite literally unbelievable.
Molly's Game
The Favourite
The Green Book
Can You Ever Forgive Me
Bohemian Rhapsody
A Star Is Born
The Wife
Took the boy to see Captain Marvel earlier....it was very enjoyable. Not perfect but featured some useful back stories and set us up nicely for Avenger's Endgame.
Interestingly I'd read a couple of reviews and they weren't very complementary. I think the problem is that too many of the professional film critics are too far up their own bottoms and don't watch (for example) a Marvel film and take it for what it is. The Times' critic falls firmly within this category and has been fairly disparaging of several films that I have found pretty good.
Just watched Free Solo, Alex Honnold climbed El Capitan in Yosemite over 3000 ft no equipment whatsoever. At times I was feeling sick at some of the views down the rock face and the thought of one slip.
'Arrival' was v engrossing. 8/10.

Saw Fisherman's Friends the other night, Good fun easy to watch true story and good film.
Confessions. Japanese film from 2010. Very atmospheric thriller about a school teacher and her pupils with a good plot and a number of surprises.
I'm looking forward to Us.
Don't know if it's been mentioned here before, but I watched Let Me In (2010) tonight on cable with Kodi Smit-McPhee and Chloe Grace Moretz. It's a very touching drama of a 12 year-old girl vampire who befriends a boy who is constantly bullied at school. A+
I saw a Dogs way home last night. Made my dog attack the TV!
3 billboards outside Ebbing Missouri
Didn know whether to lough or cry, such a great movie and actors, Frences and Sam R. were fantastic

Pretty good...but in the opinion of quite a few you should really try the right one...link...unless you can't stand subtitles.
