Not followed this thread but it is the time of year for people to purchase and receive fragrances.
For those who like vetivers,my vote is Lalique Encre Noire.

I've just added a couple from the Harry Lehmann stable (well, one before Christmas and one this week). Harry Lehmann has been going since the 1920s and they have a very no-nonsense approach to selling perfumes; you pay for the bottle and you pay for the contents by volume. They have a few scents pre-mixed and you can also mix your own from the several dozen base ingredients they have available bottled in the shop.

There's a brief review here and their own website is here (seemingly designed in the late 90s).

I went for a mix of Oud and Sandalwood in one and their own Eau de Berlin in the other.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Another vote for Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDP, certainly my favourite at the moment.

    Also on the smellies shelf:

Terre d’Hermes - oozes quality to my nose, a great, complex evening fragrance.

D&G The One for men EDT. I love the scent although it’s quite sweet. Doesn’t last at all well (I’m sure DO’L lasts longer!).

Dunhill Edition EDT. This has been relaunched and was purely a nostalgia purchase; it’s what I wore in the 90s!

A week later we were at duty free speaking to the salesman but try as we might we just couldn't find the scent. The salesman was perplexed because he assured us that he had presented us with the entire current male range. On returning to the UK we went back to the store to try to find the original scent. Turns out it was actually a perfume for women. I'm not sure what that says about me.

Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet at the moment which is a new favourite.

Quorum and green Paco Rabanne when I am nostalgic for my youth.

Don't get me wrong, I love it and wish I could wear it. I purchased a few decants off Palmolive but had to give them to my wife.

If anyone wants a great fresh fragrance for the upcoming warmer weather then I highly recommend Prada l'homme (original). You can pick up 150mm bottle for £70 on fragrancedirect atm.

I like quite a lot of the Tom Ford fragrances and own a few signiture & private blend bottles. Oud Wood is my favourite closely followed by F**cking Fabulous.

Maison Francis Kurdijan do a great selection too, I enjoy wearing the Arymis scent in the summer and got my wife the female version for her birthday one year.

At one point I adored Roja Amber Oud but after trying it a few times I’ve gone off the smell. Same goes for Creed Aventus, Opus V is in a similar boat for me aswell.

Does anyone trying layering two scents?

I own and like Amyris homme but for some reason don't wear it much. It doesn't really perform well considering the cost.

With regards to layering, I've only tried molocule 01 with various fragrances but I haven't found it too successful tbh

I do agree it doesn’t last for long, it was an impulse buy for me after I did 2 night shifts & got double pay for 24 hours a while back.

Recently got some Dunhill Icon Elite, likes it and tried Icon Absolute, absolutely brilliant. £50-ish for 100ml online (it’s RRP is £89 or something?)

The original Icon is great, too. And this deal looks too good to be true, but it's not.

Oh, don’t get me wrong I like to dress well too. I’ve got all the TZ identikit wardrobe of Belstaff jackets and a range of hand made brogues.

However, I follow the guidance of my wife who I think is a classy burd, but I am heavily biased.

She tells me there’s nothing worse than a man leaving a ‘cologne’ trail.

She's obviously not moving in the appropriate circles to have smelt a TZ-approved trail.

Personally I like Nivea balsam for the morning shave on work days.

For the rest I have two subtle Boss variants; one preferred by two gf and they keep me stocked, the other preferred by the third and ditto.

Ah the aftershave of 007, I had a bottle many years ago, wasn't citrus enough for my tastes but pleasant enough all the same, on reflection that's probably why I didn't replace it.

Thanks number 2. I've read mixed reviews on this ranging from pleasant as you mentioned to smelling like talc gone off.

No doubt it being Ian Flemings favourite fragrance helped it proceed the 007 connection as was Eucris by Trumpers

I always envisaged bond wearing Dunhill 1934 personally, but this obviously goes against the notion he hates scents or perfumery instead opting 'to bathe' re From the Russia with love novel .

That said I prefer Dunhill edition, Chanel allure and tobacco vanille and still like to test the Floris 89

If anyone is looking for any Creeds at a considerable discount then I can happily recommend these guys https://noseparis.com/en/aventus
Free shipping with a few samples thrown in from a bricks and mortar store in Paris.
Bought three different Creed fragrances from them now with no issues.

That is quite cheap for Creed, and they are 100% genuine? First time I smelt Aventus I loved it, but each time I go back and spray it on my wrist I just don’t love it as much as I thought to justify the costs

Can only speak of my experience but had no problems what so ever and have been using them for six months.

Like I said, bricks and mortar store in Paris but as always, do your own research.

There are others https://www.incenza.com/en/creed-38/...-parfum-homme/ but haven't used them as they don't offer the same amount of free samples.
