Nice. Totally exhausted from all those new impressions, I suppose!

Decided I needed a dog back in my life again so yesterday the girlfriend and I picked up this little beauty.
She's a lurcher puppy mum being a wire-haired pointer and dad a deerhound of questionable pedigree haha.
She's called Clover and if her temperament is half that of her parents we'll be overjoyed. Wish us luck.
Pupdates! Great idea... so here is an update on Herbert. 3 weeks has seen his legs almost double in length. 12 weeks old now and back today from his first public walks!

Loki looks great as does Ennerdale
I spend quite a bit of time in Ambleside and never venture to the western part of the Lakes - you have triggered an interest, but it appears to be 40 miles and 1 hours drive from Ambleside but it is showing via Keswick. Is that the only route ?
Yea it's pretty much the only way. It's not too bad a road and once in the western parts you'll find it a lot quieter than the likes of Ambleside, Windermere etc. Keswick is worth a look around and for walks there's Ennerdale, Crummock, Loweswater, Buttermere etc. Whinlatter is also good for a romp around in the trees and has good parking, a cafe, shop and toilets.
There's also loads of more off the beaten track routes which are great if wanting to get away from.it all.
Thanks for that. I know Keswick reasonably well and walk a fair bit through/from Borrowdale. But I must make that extra step west !
Here is a picture from my walk round Derwentwater on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately no dog as much as I’d love one and I am very allergic to them
