Great to see that you're bringing the watch back - well done.
The one thing that I did find slightly 'off-putting' was that small second dial of the original watch has been lost and the 9 o'clock sub-dial is the chronograph counter - whereas the 3 o'clock sub-dial is now just a 24-hr indicator - which can't be adjusted separately from the main hour hand - and therefore can't be used as a 2nd time-zone.
So in other words it seemed to lose something useful (a running seconds hand) but gained something I didn't really see the use of (as I know if it am/pm)
However, as I sat here looking at it - it suddenly dawned upon me that the 24hr sub-dial did have a great use for a Pilot's watch (and hence traditionally something that was used to assist navigation). As it's a 24hr hand that will be synched to local time - then (in the northern hemisphere - all you have to do is line the 24hr hand up with the sun) and hey-presto the sub-dials 24hr marker will be pointing North. (Sure - I know you can do this with a normal '12hr' clock - but then you have to estimate the mid-point between the hour hand and 12 o'clock marker - so a GMT/24hr hand is much easier).
So arguably, at least, the new version is more useful navigation device.
I missed out on the kickstarter - but I think as soon as these become generally available from Newmark's web-site I definitely be ordering one
Looking forward to this
I have 2 on order (one for my old man who has the Fab Four).
Looks to be a great everyday wearer with a vintage vibe.
Latest Kickstarter update came through in the early hours of this morning, sounds like a few of us should be able to post our new acquisitions on tomorrow's Friday thread!
Same for me, still a couple of days to wait, hoping we will already get feedback from the lucky ones

Yep! DHL notification through for Friday delivery. Really looking forward to this one
Yep, I shall try and be more zen about it and be happy if it arrives before next Wednesday......deep sigh!
On a non horological side note I used to subscribe to a good publication called 'Delayed Gratification', what is known as slow journalism with more in depth research.
What a coincidence...
I am working from home!
I didn't think that UK buyers were going to get notification if posted by RMSD according to Ewan's message.
Now I regret having strong willpower when the kickstarter was on
Currently in Bristol, heading Manchester way

Looks good! Radial brushing has come out well. I missed the postman's attempted delivery early this morning as we were attempting a delivery of our own at the hospital... Annoying!
Will it be today, tomorrow or Monday? Excitement mounts.
I used to have the CWC version in my long distant RAF days. So looking forward to having this on my wrist next week. Hopefully.

Congratulations, looks great! I am looking forward to seeing one on the zulu reward.
Number 250 just landed in london. Dead pleased with it so far. I dont say this about (m)any nylon nato straps but the nylon nato is excellent!
Cheers!

[QUOTE=ed335d;5005780]Didn’t use the slimmer bars that came with it, but it’s too chunky for me.
Thanks for posting that. I have a one piece leather pull through strap from David Boettcher on one of my watches that took a little while to 'settle in' and flatten down a bit. I would imagine the zulu might be the same. Potentially looks great though.
It's great to see them arriving....
Edit it's 312 not 318....doh!
HOORAH! Great packaging, not over the top but secure and thought out. Very happy chap.

My 75% complete collection of the ‘Faux Four’- the reissued versions of the Fab Four. And some friends.... i think i might have to pass on the Hamilton reissue though, due to expense/extremely ugly watch issues....
Cheers!

357 Just arrived with me. Been looking forward to this and I'm not disappointed.
Fit and finish looks to be really good, In a slightly darkened room the polished part of the hands really pop against the dail.
Not sure about the RAF style nato, might take some getting used to, need to work out where the watch sits to get a comfy fold back.
So to avoid that I've put it on a Barton canvas. I'll post a picture later if I get the chance.
Just picked up mine too.
Packaging is done well, with the utilitarian buff cardboard box and brown greaseproof paper wrapping it. Pleasantly surprised at the quality of the leather zulu, soft and flexible and hold the watch in place better than a textile Nato.
Nice touch also to have a caseback sticker in place to minimise Nato rash.
Watch is finished nicely, good radial brushing which really stands out. Slightly surprised by the polished crown and pushers, hadn't noticed these on the photos.
Hands are a perfect length (bug bear of mine), brushing the minute track as they should do. Like the metal frames, much nicer than white plastic.
The Seiko mecha-quartz movement is great, feels just like a mechanical one, snaps back perfectly to zero.
Only criticisms are it's a little hard to see which marker the minute counter is on without looking very closely and not sure how to set it accurately without a running seconds hand. The black space at the bottom of the dial is crying out for a broad arrow/pheon!

They do look good.
Still waiting for mine, the postman seems to have forgotten me today :-(
No 184 here, although unless I’m mistaken, I might be missing my cordura strap and the stretch goal Zulu. I’m sure they will follow soon.
It’s really quite lovely

So managed to get round to unboxing.
Really nicely finished, wear well and the lume seems pretty good too.

Is this excerpt from the manual a hint at a white dialled chronograph in the future Evan?!

I really liked the look of this and came close to joining the kickstarter...
The thing that stopped me in the end is the 24hr sub dial @ 3. A lot of the Seiko quartz/meca quartz movements use this and to me it’s a waste of a sub dial, particularly if there’s only two to start with.
