Awful photo but i can't get enough of the 8100
I know they aren't everyone's cup of tea mind
This arrived yesterday, I’ve been looking for the perfect one for me, could this be the one?

May I ask where you got King? Tried on the Gorrilaz king recently and was surprised that it wore smaller than I expected. But the negative display was awful so am now after a positive like yours. Thete are a few on ebay in japan but I've no idea who to trust.
Bought from these BUT you will end up with customs charges etc.
I think mine worked out around £180.

Continuing my accumulation of G Shock Kings #4 has arrived.
Just got the bits back from being bead-blasted, so my “full metal mutant” is now finally complete. It started as a standard GMW-B5000 with the negative display and resin strap - then I bought a bracelet from Casio UK and finally, inspired by S.L of this parish, had the shiny bits bead-blasted for a fine-grained “Apple Mac” type finish. I think I’m in love. ;-)

And here it is with its new Seiko stablemate (because incoming days are always fun).

Thanks, chief. :-)
In case others are interested, the work was done by a firm called “I Cleenz Machines”, in Penge, SE London. Best watch related £20 spend, ever!

Question for you G shock experts.
I have 4 GX/GXW models all set up exactly the same .
I have the light set to come on automatically on all 4 . On my most recent acquisition that setting seems to turn itself off after a few hours and I need to turn it on again.
Any ideas why ?
On the solar versions the light setting will stay on ‘permanently’ until you switch it off. On the battery versions it switches off after a few hours to save running the battery down (I’m guessing anything with a W in the model number is solar/atomic) ps I’m wearing the frogman a lot!

Anyone bother to go to G-Shock London to grab a Gorillaz? TBH none of them in the end floated my boat. If interested the Transformer one is being released tomorrow morning....
Been wearing other watches recently, but G back on today.
just been told a fabulous story from a man I know in a jewellery shop about one of his customers who has a collection of 30 + G-Shocks unworn and still in their tins. He will not buy the watch if the seals are broken.. quite a particular sort of chap it seems
In case this ever helps anyone, I was in contact with Casio UK CS dept recently enquiring about the availability and cost of a replacement strap and bezel for my carbon fibre GW-S5600. I don't actually need either, although I do like to some spares close to hand for certain favourite G-Shocks.
The good news is that they have both the bezel and strap in stock and can supply them.
The bad news is that the bezel is £8 inc VAT whereas the carbon fibre strap is £123 inc VAT.
Checking what I paid on eBay for the watch, and that they can be had for £165, it makes more sense to have a spare watch rather than a spare strap.
This really isn’t helping me not go and purchase a Mudmaster. Just look marvellous

Really like it actually! - weird module, has a light unlike the original, and the functions have an odd ‘modern twist’ where the top right hand button also sets the timer ‘down’ when in setting mode so you don’t have to cycle forward 60 mins like in the DW-5600 and 6900. It wears really comfortably, I have over 8 inch wrists and where a 5600 is a little too small this is perfect. Light as a feather too. Only downside is the tiny display but makes it really feel like an 80’s throwback (I know these originally launched in 1993 but you know what I mean!) Casio also quote a 5 year battery life from its unusually large cr2025 battery (although I have 3 5600’s approaching 5 years old still on original batteries). I’d recommend the 5900 for sure
