Looks a big butch lad, so leather collar? There are some paracord leads for sale on the SC at the moment.
Hi did a forum search and couldn’t find anything, so looking for any recommendations for collars and leash sets, he is 11 years old and has never pulled on the leash so have never had a shock leash or harness, just looking as his current one is years old and is showing it

Can't recommend Firedog Biothane collars enough. They don't absorb moisture so don't ever smell, they wipe clean should they come in contact with something unpleasant, and they come in a wide range of colors. All my Spinone where them in orange and they're excellent.

Also got the following ID tags on the collars. The design means no split ring is required so the tag doesn't wear through where it was drilled, plus they don't rattle.

Hunter do some nice collars, in nylon or leather, all sorts of colours. The ones with the metal clip have never failed me.

My three all wear Mekuti balance harnesses, as they tended to pull on the lead when they meet other dogs. Good quality though if you wanted a harness instead of a collar.
I would buy the same again if the current ones ever fail, even though the dogs no longer pull.

Harness for me, our Retriever is 3 years old, never pulls, but the harness is brilliant, has a grab handle, helps get him out of rivers when walking. We bought a Hurta one, great bit of kit. Just bought a Julius K9 harness for our 4 month old pup, its also seems good and comfortable. Somebody once said to me, how would you like to be lead around by your neck :)
Many thanks to everyone for the helpful replies I will go through them all and have a good look as I don’t want to jump in and buy twice
Biothane is a polyester webbing with a PVC or TPU coating. It suffers from none of the failings that leather collars do. I've had them on my dog's for what must be over 5 years now, and I haven't experienced any negatives to the material in that time. As a dog collar material I don't know of a better or more suitable product.
