Pretty impressive I agree, though I suspect there might have been more than a few amusing outtakes.
No doubt some of us have seen stuff by Boston Dynamics before but they're just getting better and better.
Check this out

So are they programmed to do this or are they action to their surroundings?
We're in trouble just as soon as robots learn how to get upstairs.
Very impressive, even if the whole thing is programmed in as a one-trick pony. Seemed to catch its left foot scaling those blocks?
The scary part is whether the military see them as viable.
Boston Dynamics do a lot of work for DARPA.
"Please put down your weapon. You have 20 seconds to comply."
One-trick? I don't think so:
- Two years ago...The Next Generation
- Five months ago...Getting some air
when they become self aware the guy with the hockey stick is going to be sorry :)
New video from them. It's all good fun till the flame thrower starts.
I can see this technology being used for paraplegics and amputees within the next 10 years...
So not that intelligent then as I would given the guy with the hockey stick a proper shove
They don't always work, sometimes they fail, then get in a strop, then fall over
A paint ball to the eye will stop 'em.
If you think they're creepy...meet some crawling learning for robots, BBC Link.
I presume these things aren't autonomous?
I didn't realise Hyundai have got have purchased them. Interesting upcoming info here:

Wow, though I'm surprised a non-US company was allowed to buy Boston Dynamics.
CGI is very impressive these days
Mr. Bezos must be rubbing his hands frantically...no more toilet breaks and 24/7/365 shifts
I too have been following Boston Dynamics for some years. I remember watching a video of someone dressed in military gear and a BD robot clanking along beside him. Stealthy it was not, and that's the biggest problem with these. They have come on in leaps and bounds. There was a clip of the dog type robot slipping on a banana skin a while back.
Did you see what I did there?
There are some good cgi ones

...police dog shot multiple times...:
...Roscoe was part of the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad and deployed on March 6 in a Barnstable house after police were fired upon. Police sent in two other robots often used for bomb disposal into the house to find the suspect along with the robotic dog.
Controlled remotely by state troopers, it first checked the two main floors before finding someone in the basement. The person, armed with a rifle, twice knocked over the robotic dog before shooting it three times and disabling its communication.
The person then shot at one of the other robots and an outdoor swimming pool before police deployed tear gas and arrested them...
Boston Dynamics has an Ethical Approach:
...Adding weapons to robots that are widely available to the public and capable of navigating in locations where people live and work raises both serious risks of harm and ethical objections. In response, we have spearheaded a coalition of industry leaders spanning six companies and three continents in pledging not to weaponize our robots or the software that enables their use...
How well that will hold up is yet to be seen. Especially in countries like Russia and the USA (were there has been a considerable effort to circumvent the drug companies' ban on supplying products to be used for lethal injections).
Pop an AI brain into one (or remote connect) and things will start to get very Azimov indeed. The next couple of decades are going to be interesting, to say the least.
I imagine some clever legal definitions, perhaps gerrymandering a ''warzone'' exclusion will circumvent this bump in the road, the invocation of national security interests, only a matter of time..that is if DARPA aren't already on it, working on getting robot boots on the ground.

When the human folks go home.......
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
