Have you tried contacting Silvermans?
I cannot see the CWC (RAF) general service issue 2000 on the Silverman's website; it is still on the CWC website but if you want to buyone ar Silverman's you cannot...
Any info ??
Have you tried contacting Silvermans?
No, because I was not planning to buy one actually; in fact I just noticed it was no longer on their site, and was wondering why... ?
Then maybe... you should try contacting Silverman's.
Just received an answer by Silverman's :
The GS 2000 will not be available until November which is why it is not on the website

By the way, it appears that when you order a CWC GS 2000 from Silverman's you can luckily receive an issued one when they usually send a civilian like that one (picture by myself) :
The C means it was part of a run made for Cabot stock. Sometimes you might get one from Silvermans that was part of a contract order over-run. Sometimes you might get one without any serial number at all. In all cases they are brand new watches never been used.
Thanks,
I thought the 'C' was standing for civilian...
What do you mean by "part of a run made for Cabot Stock" ?
cheers,
Laurent
It means it was made for Cabot stock, if the government wants a small quantity of watches they will come from Cabot stock rather than having some made specially.Originally Posted by Laurent B
And sometimes, new old stocks are also popping up !
:)
Where have those ones come from?
...and why are they all at 4:15? I notice all the seconds hands are spot on the markers, though! (saddo, or wot?)
Because I just received them today and put all of them at the same hour in order to see if there are some batteries problems... All are NOS pristine condition.
What year are they?Originally Posted by Laurent B

Let me know if you will be selling via the forum.
Or are you planning on keep them all for a bumper CWC collection?
Why is it always 1989 that pops up "NOS":?:
Almost 90% of the CWC G10 I see turning up "NOS" in sales post are "NOS", makes me wonder....
May be a year with a big production, then some overrun watches...
Serial indicates a quiet big production :
Apologies for bring back an old thread but been researching the history of the GS2000 and from what I can deduce to date is those sold by Silvermans from around 2001/02 up to possibly 2007 had 'C' S/N's without date and around 2000 were made.
From 2008 CWC started to use the MOD style S/N and date with the serial continuing from where it previously left off and by the end of 2011 a further 1000 appear to have been made.
In 2012 a batch appear with both lume markers plus numbers and broader hands but in 2013 CWC revert back to the original design. After this date production appears to stop altogether with around 4500 having been produced.
However what I cannot find is anything on the GS2000's supplied and issued to the RAF, not even an image; has anyone actually seen one/own one?
Many thanks if anyone can help,
