That'll be Alan McNish's rather spectacular smash, I was about 100mtr further down the circuit.
I've already posted a pic of myself though here's another seeing as I have one from Le Mans. This would have been 1999 at the Beausejour campsite, I'm wearing the black fleece kneeling by the driver. He was asked to take part in the driver's parade, the car is a 3 wheeler Grinnall Scorpion and apparently he was swamped for autographs!
Where was the first one taken?
My mum and dad had a similar photo (but in colour) taken of me in the late '60s/early '70s at Selfridges (I think).
In those days, of course, you waited for the photo to be developed and when it turned up my Mum looked a bit disappointed - I had to point out that the fact it wasn't a great likeness of me was because the kid in the photo had bright ginger hair! Eventually the correct photos were reunited with the appropriate children!
And... if you don't look happy at that point, there really is no hope!

I had a press pass for 10 or so years and used to hang around at the Esses and down to Tertre Rouge at the start of the race. Not that year though. Here's one of my favourites:
I'm in the orange shirt. It was supposed to be a Hawaiian-style sunset over some palm trees but looks more like the opening scene from Apocalypse Now, I had to buy it. Mainly it annoyed my then girlfriend. My press pass blagging days are long gone (can't be arsed, frankly, it made it all much less fun).

It's not, that was an open day where I put on a display for the public, the kids could chat to me through the comms box, they loved it!!
Thank you. And well done, I can easily believe they were thrilled. I probably would be

This is about the oldest photo I have of me available, 2002 in Namibia. Fishing off the beach near Swakopmund

Because of the age of it, it is, of course, a black and white photograph.

This isn't me, but my dad and his sister. Taken in Moscow, in the mid to late 50s.

Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Always fancied having a go at Shark fishing off the west coast of Africa, big beach casters and multipliers along with a pit in the sand to wedge the rod into while playing them out.
I had the smaller version of this recently in Cape Verde catching plenty of Sharks up to about 20lb.
