Can anyone get close to the Fed?
Just won his 20th slam (that’s 10% of all tennis slams since the era open started in 1968). He’s an advertising dream. Wearing a blue skydweller - how I’d love 10% of his collection :-)
True, but also one of the many reasons the brand maintains desirability, which in turn helps drive strong re-sale values for those very same Rolex fans.
On topic, James Bond & NASA have to be up there, although one is admittedly fictional and neither is an Ambassador in the exact sense the OP perhaps means.
Who has been the worst lol?
The top 3
Neil Armstrong
Paul Newman
Steve McQueen
I don’t think he is an ambassador but Alan Sugar gets Rolex lots of prime time tv coverage including close ups of his wrist every time he says “you’re fired!”
I seem to recall that either John Cleese (Cheese) or Ronnie Barker used to advertise Sekonda 'back in the day'
I don’t watch tennis, does he wear it while playing?

Yes, I found myself Checking his watches out during the Appreciate.
I always seen to catch a glance of Richard Hammond's watches on GT, usually Rolex.

Two of my (least) favourites:
John Barrowman & Tudor.
Bob Geldof & Maurice Lacroix.
I like to imagine I can hear those cash-registers ringing non-stop!

Jim.
Does Michael Phelps count? In achievement terms he's done OK.
Federer can't be beaten though. He's the greatest of all time, and is actually Rolex-like because he IS the best but doesn't need to scream it from the rooftops, everyone knows it.
Maybe not the best, however Jack Niklaus and his president is worth a mention.

That will raise some serious cash when it sells.

Joey Essex for R***x.
He can`t even tell the time!
Were they all 'actual' ambassadors ? While they might be amongst the most famous to be "associated with a watch"- was it in cooperation with the maker or incidental?
I would put Sir Jackie Stewart as being the greatest - started around 1970 and has continued to this day.

Golfers feature heavily. Maybe it's an age profile ting, but as a youngster you thought Rolex was the ultimate watch and I always associated the make with Arnold Palmer.
I don’t really get the ‘sports ambassador’ thing at all - possibly because I’m not remotely interested in watching sport. I agree, Federer is an amazing tennis player. But he doesn’t (need to) wear a watch whilst playing, he’s a grown up who plays games for a living (however well paid) and he looks very smarmy and pleased with himself (imho). Perhaps he’s entitled to, and perhaps people who aspire to be like him are a large part of the target market - but it leaves me cold. Much preferred the older ads with Arctic explorers and submarine captains!

Edmund Hillary and Smiths Watches?
No question Federer is earning his keep with product placement like this:
I never even knew Federerrere had a deal with Rolex.
I guess these brand ambassadors matter to some people but I rarely notice unless they are a bit of an odd match. Leonardo Di Crapio for Tag and Huge Jackedman for Mont Blanc are the only ones I can really recall seeing and thing "eh??"
Thread finished!

Roger federer, never fail to show up at final/semi finals, always wearing rolex when receiving the trophies.
The professionals.Love trying to see their watches
"If you ever needed proof that a Rolex needs no pampering, watch Red Adair in action."
Saw this years and years ago. He was an oil well firefighter, very brave chap. He must've been an ambassador?
Danial Craig when he's playing bond he wears an omega, when he's spending his own money he buys a Rolex
Funnily enough Omega made him an ambassador outright (not as Bond) and therefore he has personally only worn Omega the last few years so guess his Rolex hidden away for now.
His Wife also bought him a Aston for his birthday a few years back if I remember rightly as was in the press or interview lol
Yeah im sad for knowing all this!!
Ok. Do we know who he's killed? : D
