The day a Tudor ends up more than a Rolex is the day the world should implode. Having tried to source one of these watches at what I feel is a “reasonable” premium, I can’t believe how genuinely delusional some of the owners of this watch are.
Sometimes people ask silly money because they’re attached to something, but in this case, it’s blatantly obvious they think they have the world’s rarest watch and that everyone is desperate for one. It’s really daft. I’m sure it can be said about other brands but it seems the Tudor marketing works incredibly well. I have had my eyes opened with this watch.
It’s now thought that a lot more will be produced. Whether that’s fact or fiction, the owners I’ve spoken to seem to completely ignore the possibility of this, and ask figures of £6k+... that’s Hulk money and I know which is worth it, and which isn’t.
I understand there’s a secondary market with a lot of watches now, and I accept that, but there’s only a few watches out there that are worth 50-100% extra in premium. I don’t see how this is.
1800 on the waiting list
So,would that roughly equate to about £4500000+ in potential sales?
(Forgive my arithmetic - it's early).
Would not even Harrods want that and press Tudor to make and deliver more,Tudor also knowing these will sell faster than their other models and make quick profit?
Surely more will be made and with Harrods sometime this year while the interest is still keen?
It’s a real shame. More and more we’re seeing that these limited editions are all being snapped up by speculators trying to sell on for a profit and those who might actually want to wear it are missing out.
I’m not sure what to do about it but it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
I wonder whether the interest in this Harrods BBG might spark a run on the other Black Bays, particularly the ETA versions? Someone suggested on WUS that the BBN might soon-ish reach $10,000 due to demand and there only having been 3,000 or so produced. I can’t see it myself.
You’re right about some of the clientele on WUS being slightly odd although hasn’t a Tudor BBG just sold for $8,000 - so who knows, it could happen? There’s one guy on TRF who appears fixated by there being only ‘3,000’ ETA BBN’s made and refers to it in every post.
Yeah seems modern Tudors are worth more than vintage (tongue in cheek)

Vintage ... https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/th...ubmariner-7923
Seriously though you could get a nice old Tudor Sub and big block chronograph for the same price as this (if it sells for 10k)
The limited edition moniker seems to help those speculating in the market, creating a fear of miss it miss out.
It will happen. It's just a matter of time and inflation.
Not sure where he gets his figures from, but I've seen the 3000 number bandied about a bit probably all from the same post!
You have to remember that old production models are no longer being produced, unlike current models.
I still think a Harrods version will be worth more than the BBN, even in 20 years time. Hopefully I'll have both of them by then :)
It's just a matter of time...
Second guessing what’s going to happen with watches is like trying to work out what the weather’s going to do in two week’s time. I recall all the neigh sayers and so-called experts on the various forums, just after the Speedy Snoopy came out, stating that it would never appreciate...and then look what happened?
I see Blowers have one of these listed at £6450. Can't imagine it'll hang around for long.
Somebody just posted this on a Tudor group on Facebook
Madness, make anything limited edition (cars, watches etc) and people go mad for them and they sell for crazy money over rrp. I understand it but I order just to buy stuff I like. Anyway. Clearly people will buy a 2k watch for 7k. Madness.
Can anyone knock up a Selfridges version with bright yellow bezel?

But people paying £16k for a £9k watch or £32k for a £18k watch for non limited edition watches is ok
Also most limited edition watches do so poorly look at Omega LOL
The Harrods BB is not worth so much coz it’s a limited edition. It’s worth this much coz they are limiting supply and is genuinely a nice watch that people want to buy. Just like the daytona or 5711.

Omega Limited Editions tend to do better than their non-Limited models though.
It's just a matter of time...
Its your money do what you like but theres not a man on here who wouldn’t buy one for £2600 knowing full well they can have at least double that straight back. If you no likey then no lighty but dont drip on about it
RIAC
Well I guess someone wasn't a fan of the watch, They just sold it on the bay for £6388
I'm sure the 3.5k profit makes up for their disappointment of the watch😂
A small saving over what Blowhards are asking then.
It was, but the buyer then probably found out that it is not quite as limited as was first being made out and that if you put your name on the list at Harrods, you will receive one.
Not really a great incentive to pay Blowers their inflated profit margin with the stated £6.5k price tag.
what is wrong with some people!? the watch is worth £6k~ now deal with it lol. jesus. Blowers is a fine business with integrity and they will charge the market price. Retail price is irrelevant.

Certainly the Speculative dealers hope so but with the number of over RRP Omega ck2998 and 60th anniversary speedies etc currently floating around unsold at the dealers inflated margins, good to know that the market can still spot an over inflated price and decide not to pay.

Pretty amazed at the amount of attention this tudor has commanded.. thought those sort of mark ups only exist for sport rolexes and perhaps certain LE omegas..
Waiting list is still open for this as I joined it today . I wonder therefore if the original run is being extended?
How did you join the list? Over the phone or pop in there?
Thanks

No appetite for the “hulk”, “Kermit” or this one...........
Green is not appealing in a watch.
Another “shouty” design.
Hi mate,
Over the phone but contacted via email initially. Had nice chat and on the list I joined. Very simple process. See number below from pasted email.

Popped in to Harrods today, the refurbished watch room area is beginning to take shape. If you are familiar with the old layout there is now a downstairs area that has been added. Currently the sections open down there include Lange, IWC, Panerai, Breitling and the bigger 'various cheaper brands' section which includes Tudor.....currently on display are three BBG on black 'nato', bracelet and one showing the case back (number 38).
As far as I have been made aware the original run of 100 was never set in stone and Tudor have confirmed that this BBG will be limited but have not placed a final number, similar I suppose to the Omega Fois.
So it could be 1000 or 100000 but everyone who is on the Harrods list will definitely get one, although I am unsure of turnaround time by Tudor on this release.
