Had a quick chat with Harrods.

As is outlined above, both the first and second run of watches are hugely popular and they aren't adding names to either list.

They haven't been told how big the second run will be, so they drew the line at around 500ish names.

They're going to try to set aside some watches to sit in the store cabinets and for punters who turn up in person, but it hasn't been confirmed that this will end up happening, nor has it been confirmed when the second run of watches arrives.

    Harrods green black bay

    Love it.

Perfect shade of green, riveted bracelet, subtle green text and second hand tip.

It’s not often I get very excited by a watch but this is seriously good.

Just a really great watch. Nothing more to say it’s bang for buck superb and the colourway is perfecto.

    Harrods green black bay

I don’t want to like it as I’m not a much of a fan of Harrods and I wouldn’t want to own one personally. However, credit where it’s due, the watch looks great.

Not too bad at all. I wonder if they specifically chose "special edition" so that as mentioned, they can make it a yearly thing if demand is there, as opposed to a one off limited edition.

No it’s a run of 100 or 175 and a suggestion that the uplift of 75 was due to about 75 key people in Rolex and Tudor wanting one!. Then there may be a regular release or trickle of limited numbers. Will have to wait and see

    I have to agree.

Monkey's photos have changed my opinion on the watch.

    And by the way congratulations

  20. #120
I think it looks superb. It certainly does green better than its more expensive cousin.

Its just a lovely understated watch that seems to meet every requirement without any desire to needlessly strive to exceed at the expense of taste.

I would need to see it first hand but the posted pictures (and thanks to those who took the trouble to post them,by the way)seem to show it works and I only liked the BB in blue.
Not keen on the bracelet maybe but I can see why this watch is generating interest here.

Very kind words. It also comes with the NATO. Not that you couldn’t put it on any NATO or a nice distressed leather strap. The options are limitless.
The joy of the riveted bracelet is that it has the retro look and industrial feel but with a modern and strong build as it’s a faux rivet that’s screwed for sturdiness.

I work in the Watch trade and see thousands of pieces cross my palms at every price point and this is in my top 5 for sure. I always maintained Tudor was one of the best bang for buck pieces and this combination coupled with exclusivity makes it’s an absolute gem

I have to agree with the majority here - that looks very nice indeed. Great shade of green

Initially I was quite unmoved but the last few pics have definitely changed my mind. I bet that’ll look great on a brown calf strap.

No they went with a black detail on the crown spacer which works well rather than green overkill. Remember on the others they don’t have the detailing on the second hand tip or text.

Had a long chat with the CEO of Tudor last week while looking at this watch.

He says it is not a limited edition issue and they will be making as many as Harrods want......

It is a nice watch in the flesh, suits the green

Which is half True. They have not decided how many if any might follow but any future will not be numbered like the original run and may have slight differences. An additional uplift of 75 has been muted but not confirmed. Perhaps the CEO should put a statement out if true and explain why they wrote Special Edition on it and released to the press that is was

Just reporting what he said.....don't shoot the messenger!

Its a special edition because its only available through Harrods and obviously is different to the normal ones.

His comment was that it's not a limited edition as they will be making however many Harrods want (in response to my question that I had heard it was a limited edition and all sold out).

The official Tudor Press Releases said it was a Special Edition exclusively for sale through Harrods......not a limited edition and no mention of any numbers....

The discussion on numbers is all just rumour and speculation as far as I can see.....and that's not coming from Tudor....

Although I don't see what the issue is anyway, hopefully they will make enough for everyone that wants one (as should be the way!) and not be the joke that Rolex has become when it's impossible to buy any new sports Rolex in this country without going on a waiting list and all the ones for sale are being sold at premiums...

Very true. It’s a great production. Mine along with the initial 100 is numbered and documented a Special Edition and knowing the house of Rolex/Tudor the mystique will prevail.
Out of interest who replaced Phillipe as CEO?

I was chatting with Sven Olsen, he's Head of Tudor UK, not sure who is CEO of Tudor in Geneva now but I think Philippe Peverelli moved to a different part of the Rolex group last year...

I much preferred the green Harrods watch to the blue bronze Bucherer special edition

+1.......Green doesn`t work on a watch for me, regardless of how expensive it is. Yet another watch that looks far better on the bracelet than a bit of cloth, but it would still be green.

Looks superb. I’ll be adding one of these for certain. We shall see whether that ends up being an expensive one of 100 or a sensible one of millions. 🤣 Hopefully the latter.

Got a call that mine has arrived. However I was told it was a limited edition of 100. But reading this thread seems like they will make more? (mine is numbered as i chose my number). But if it’s not an edition of 100, whilst still a very cool watch is a totally different ball game all together!!
