Thread: SOTC 2017 - 13 years of collecting

As others have said, fantastic collection & nice to see a left field one.

My only concern is many seem to be a tad to big for the wrist, not sure whether camera angle or not, but if you're happy and wear them, ignore!

I recognise the excellence of the collection but as others have said maybe not best suited to the smaller wrist.
Maybe a vintage Rolex into that collection would wear nicely.

An awesome varied collection there. Some leftfield options too that really mix it up. Congrats.

That is one serious collection of quality watches! Something for everyone, I think! While being very different! Excellent indeed, thanks for posting.

A fantastic collection of dare I say 'grail' watches. Almost like a fantasy lock-in at a top end watch specialists. Well done and thanks for sharing.

Size wise, yes some do look far too big for your wrist but wide angle up close pic’s is not very pleasing at all for the subject matter..
Best thing to judge size is wear the watch while looking in the mirror, if it looks to big or the lugs reach either side of your wrist then it looks wrong to other people unfortunately.
    What is your wrist size?
I have just under 7” (ooh err) and 42mm (Speedmaster) is as far I would go now.

    Beautiful collection nonetheless..

James a lovely collection there and I particularly like the AP but I love the first piece the Habring2. I have been close a couple of times to buying one and I really like your one the ‘jumping. Second’ & ‘Felix’. Being first is that one of your latest buys?

Can I ask you what is the model number of the white faces AP.

Also do you watch WatchArtSci on YouTube? He has similar tastes and some of his collection is similar? If you don’t you should.

    Wear them in health

    Fred

    Impressive collection.

I have a smallish 6.5" wrist myself and like OP, this doesnt stop me getting the slightly larger watches like Hublot Big Ban or Panerai 1950s. Otherwise I will never get to enjoy these great watches! One exception for me is AP ROO, with its extended lugs, I find it really unwearable.

I started to do a back of the envelope estimate of the value of that collection, my envelope was too small.

    Impressive collection

    Hi Fred,

Maria Habring recommended some of their latest models to me and the closest to my liking is the jumping second with pointer date. However, I wasn’t sure if I would spend so much on another timepiece given that I bought a watch 2 months prior. I’m contented with this basic pilot time date model which is a simple and functional watch.

The VC model is called “Overseas”.

Ok i’ll check out watchartsci on YouTube. Thanks for letting me know.

    Cheers

    James
