Information post for those it may concern.
Just acquired a mk2 SBS and am currently giving it
"sea trials" on a beach in the Caribbean.
A few points of interest:
Lume is incredible! Even better than it used to be on previous SL dials
Perhaps they are using more/better/different SL but it's like a torch and easily as good as the wonderful Omega 2254's.
Date wheel is in English/French.
First of these I have seen, all previous have been Spanish.
Case back has added script. "CABOT WATCH COMPANY " and "SAPPHIRE"
NSN and pheon is still proper engraved but the added script and the
issue number, year and "WATERRESISTANT 30ATM" is now acid etched...
Cheaper, presumably.
Haven't had chance to spin the back off yet to confirm if they are still
supplied with movement covers, have read somewhere they had stopped.
White dots visible on crystal are from phone case...

Funnily, I had a 2014 that did...
The crystal was sapphire too but it had a blue hue to it.
This new one is gin clear.
faraday cage ( movement cover like you say) hs not been in these watches for many many years
my 2012 does not have one
Received my 2017 CWC SBS yesterday. The bezel action is the best I've had on a CWC. No play what so ever. Smashing watch.

Had time to spin the back off today.
Confirmed no "faraday" cover
New black plastic movement spacer/holder with in built battery retainer.
Interested in seeing a lume shot as you rate it!
Photo bucket is still playing up but have managed to load two pics.
From a sunny kitchen into a pitch dark laundry room.
Then after five minutes.
Is the serial + year really acid etched or more likely laser engraved ??
Same on the Pulsar G10 : older were engraved, newer looks laser etched...
Wow, realy nice watch.
I know it's probably not correct concerned the history of the watch but I would love to see that version with an automatic movement.
They now do a black auto diver with date. Exactly the same watch but without the day function.

What's the verdict on CWC divers? Still worth the money?? I been looking more at getting a quartz and deciding whether to get preowned or new. Some of the preowned I have seen have been quite highly priced but I suspect because they were ex-issue.

Zeno group buy? What's that?? I'm new on here.

Send me a pm. Happy to fill you in...£250 instead of £££
I've tried to find the specs for the Zeno diver (PRS3?). Are they the same as the Broadarrow- sapphire crystal, Quartz Ronda and luminova (despite having a 'T' on the face). How does it compare to the CWC? I realise it's quite a bit cheaper but wondered if the similar quality. It certainly looks very similar!! Cheers

I read that some some owners felt the fit and feel weren't quite as good as the CWC. Looks wise there's little in it. Just a shame I can't 'try before I buy'. Lol

Perhaps I can help. I'm on the opposite side of your coin. I bought one of the pvd zenos as I've wanted a cwc sbs but couldn't stomach the price!
The zeno, as said above, looks the part. The pvd finish is flawless. It wears well. However, the 60 click bezel isn't the most accurate. Sloppy. You can get it right on 12...but it'll creep off centre. Also, the second hand is off on mine, by around 1/5s of each mark and up to 1/2 a second off in places.
For £200, don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining.... But I am wondering if a cwc has a flawless bezel and more accurately positioned second hand. Can I justify the extra? Probably not. The zeno wears REALLY nicely and really, do i NEED the seconds hand on the lines? No.
(ps: I'd probably still buy a used CWC SBS if it was the right price... which is doubtful with how the prices have risen this past while)

That's muddied the waters a bit but thanks for replying. I'm keeping an eye out for a used CWC Quartz (ideally mk2) to see what they go for. I think the rrp is rather steep.
