Flat 4 bezel and y series (or whatever the actual 50th anniversary first run was) for the big bucks would be my guess.
Warranty is probably from a Rolex service.
I saw these on a website. All the same model and all the same year. One has no box or papers but is listed with 23 months warranty.
How would their value be over £8k apart ?

Full set at £7500 isnt going to be available for much longer. The prices will rise a little more, and then I’d expect to stabilise. The price of sine current model sport Rolex seems to be pushing the prices of older models much higher.
It's just a matter of time...
Condition, originality and completeness generally tend to influence the pricing, no?
These have become so expensive. When I got my nos example for $6500, that seemed crazy. At current prices, I'm not a buyer.
Prices are crazy for these I’m going to sell mine in the next few weeks along with a few others watches I think
I would like to own one but they are getting very expensive .
If anyone is selling one for under 7k let me know.
One on sales corner just now at £7850
I sold my full set Z serial in April for 7k on SC
I thought that was a fair price.
All the watches I listed were at the same dealer. Watchfinder. Which just makes it even more confusing.
If only we could sell our watches for the prices they ask on some of their stock.
The one sold on sc yesterday was a full set and had a service
Still under warranty and sold for £7850
Not a Rolex service and in terms of an LV full set, not quite. It was missing the hang tag which is extremely important as others have said early LVs had no model designation on the papers, only on the hang tag. This is why the hang tag is so important to collectors on this model.
No but we are talking in the context of a full set. A full set to a collector is everything as it left the shop. I'd say on this model it is a huge bonus to have the original hang tag with model number. Not essential, but big brownie points for your watch's provenance.
Agee that that one wasn't quite a full set without the hang tag
Good money for non Rolex service and no hang tag, these have really risen in price .
Glad I have some!
So have the regular 16610s.
That price seemed quite fair given that it's a distinctive and far-rarer version of what's already a perfected all-around watch. And don't forget that much of the apparent price rise in the UK market is directly correlated to how much the GBP has fallen lately.
I think all LV’s post 2006 with plastic card instead of papers are marked 16610 LV mine is
So swing tag not massively relevant post 2006 ?
I would say the one on SC was asking strong money for non Rolex service(if that was the case) and swimpruf tag missing.
Pretty much dealer money.
It's just a matter of time...
From an investment perspective, would the non rehaut engraved watches be more or less collectable than the engraved version? Naturally the early ones with the flat 4 are the ones to have, but those aside, does it matter?
Personally I prefer the non engraved rehaut

At this point it's personal preference. I too prefer the cleaner non-engraved watches. I'm sure some enterprising dealer will corner the market on some variant and then pump them up as the "must have" version.
I preferred, and bought, a non-engraved watch with the darkest green insert I could find. I've never liked the earlier lime green inserts, and I have zero interest in having a modern watch with an impossible to replace bezel insert.
Yes. I think so, and like covered by JP, the insert colour was just a little nicer too. I a first credit card warranty one that is still without the rehaut, alongside an earlier serial version - so maybe I have a vested interest, or the kids Uni fees might prefer a higher resale for them in years to come ;)
It's just a matter of time...
The different shades of green are clearly visible in this pic.

It is the best Rolex sports watch from the last generation. I'd say it trumps the current generation too
Vested interest? Possibly. Wife wears mine and I have a BNIB v serial. But they'd be the last watches I sell
Here's one...

So I know I need to earn my right to view SC, but can I issue an WTB? I am on the lookout for a LV in mint condition with box and papers. £8k.
How. ?
I know this isn’t a logical hobby - but I thought £3000 was a lot when I bought mine out of a shop window brand new. Sold it for a decent profit after 7 years because I could never get on with the combination of the green bezel and black dial - just not a good colour combo imho. These were never all that rare, or hard to find - the whole market is a bit ‘emperors new clothes’ isn’t it?
