This could get a lot of responses! No I don't own one.

I did have one but never wore it so it was sold.
I've got one (for now). There's a great thread on omega forums detailing serial numbers etc
As someone with an avid interest in both space exploration and the works of Hergé I'm very pleased with mine. Of course this was really the first watch worn on the lunar surface, by Tintin, Haddock, Calculus and Wolff in 1953 .
I have never owned one but I think I want to....v nice indeed.
They do look very cool.
I presently own two Omega watches but neither are Speedmasters.
The Tintin has never done anything for me, although I do own the Tintin book pictured in the OP. Sure that I spoke to a fellow TZer who has a fair collection of them - maybe 5?!
Here's mine, I bought the watch solely for its good looks as I like the splash of color on the dial. I do not quite believe the 'TinTin' story: why would Omega associate itself with a cartoon character which has nothing to do with NASA? Or bring out a half-finished design because they are denied the rights to the TinTin-rocket? I think it is just a regular dial-variant of the Speedmaster and nothing else. It was neither limited nor numbered and Omega called it 'Racing' if I'm correct. A nice watch nonetheless and produced for only a short time.

Each to their own, of course, but it just strikes me as gimmicky in the extreme.
I guess many will say the red adds something (it looks out of place to me) and at least it hasn't got Tintin's face on a subdial!
Not for me, then...

Yes - I bought one ... but it was bought with the intention of it being a donor watch to create a Gemini IV look-a-like ...
I have no idea abut the tintin link but it's a cool looking watch
Of course it's not going to appeal to everyone, but it's no more gimmicky than a 'Hulk' or a 'Batman'. There's no official tie-in with Moulinsart, 'Tintin' is just a nickname for a good value and much admired version of the Speedmaster.
I love the Speedy Tintin. It takes me back to when I was a small boy and Herge's comics were a great part of my childhood and my wild imagination. The mystery around the (truth or fiction) stories about Omega falling out with the Herge family lawyers etc. only adds to the intrigue. It's not everyone's favorite and I can understand why. For me, it is something wonderful.

I really like it. The Tintin name is irrelevant to me, it's the design I like. How much are these worth (TZ prices, not Watchfinder prices!)?
I wear my .012 Speedy less and less as the values go up and up, and I quite fancy a more modern Speedy for more regular use.
"A man of little significance"
I own Wayne's tintin now. The story about the tintin tie is completely true. You can reed all about it in fratellowatches.
The other day I contacted omega about my reservation about speedy Tuesday and I mentioned the tintin. Their representative acknowledged the model as a tintin and he mentioned that he is currently looking for one as well. And this came from an official omega email account...

I think the last one sold on here for Ł2,800. Can only see these going one way though as they are so scarce now. Looked on Chrono24 a couple of weeks ago and I think there were only 2 for sale worldwide. What with Omega price rises and watch aficionados jumping on the bandwagon can only see them going up
You can find them outside the UK for Ł2.6k ish. Minefield of condition/servicing/papers/wrong warranty cards etc. Some are ok though. VAT to pay on US watches also. One source in HK might have one or possibly two NOS or mint at a bit more but VAT on top again. There's some available from owners or specialist dealers in UK if you look around. Current price - at least from what I've seen - is about Ł3,100 to Ł3,250

Had one and sold it. Kind of regret it.
The Tintin addiction is pretty severe in our house! Here's a new piece of art I commissioned, with my Speedy Tintin as paperweight. Off to be framed next week.
I'd love one of these

Can anyone enlighten me as why it's called the Tintin?

And more details behind the story here:

"Theories abound, but the answer likely resides with how the Speedmaster Tintin came to fruition. Robert-Jan covered this all the way back in 2013, but it seems that Omega was working towards a watch officially licensed by the family of the Tintin creator (Hergé) in celebration of the cartoon and comic strip. The lead character famously goes to the moon in a red and white-checkered rocket that apparently became the inspiration for the dial you see before you. Omega even went as far as to create a dial with a rocket ship on it and a caseback in the vein of the Mission Patch models – think flat colored decal – before the family decided to nix the project. Robert-Jan featured a picture of the Hergé (Tintin) albums that are associated with this specific watch but was asked, no – required, to take it down under threat of suit by Hergé."
Wish I'd bought one when you could still pick them up new. There is something really quirky and appealing about the 'Tintin'.
I think Robert-Jan did see the original prototype in the flesh too but was not allowed to share pics of it. He's one of the very few people that know what it would have looked like if the project had come properly to fruition.
Although the 'TinTin' was a regular production model as the Speedster Racing, it stayed in the catalogue for only about 2 years. Few were sold and the rumour is that there under 2000 in the world. In Speedy Limited Edition world, thats right there with the most desirable limited editions. The combination of great design, great story and very limited numbers means this can only go one way. Evidence is on Chrono24 already too were only a couple are for sale at any one time and asking prices seem to be on the rise fast.
I own one too! The red and white paint really adds a nice splash of colour.

Mine arrived today and I'll be sizing the bracelet this evening and wearing it tomorrow. This thread was what motivated me to go on the hunt and find one for sale.
Lovely complete kit there. Did the models come part of original sale set?
