Never write off Valentino! Great race, and a cracking 7th for Scott
What a fantastic start to the season - awesome!
Never write off Valentino! Great race, and a cracking 7th for Scott
Just what I needed to round off the weekend after an underwhelming (IMO) F1 race this morning.
Best not compare with F1. Don't insult Moto GP ;-)
Cracking first race, I hope it keeps up throughout the season. Roll on Catalunya!
Great race! Some surprises in there, and some same old same old.
It's just a matter of time...
I've just booked tickets for Assen. Went to Valencia last year, but since it was all over by then it maybe wasn't as exciting as it could have been.
Also so going to the TT, which should be a cracker this year.
Felt really sorry for Zarco..... but the way Maverick stepped it up on those last few laps, shows what a class act he is..
If I were Marquez, I'd be a bit worried...
And what a result by Rossi! How does he do it?
"For sure, if I had to bet on me being on the podium today, I wouldn’t have bet! Maybe ten euros"
Great comment from Rossi, looked like he was going to struggle to be in the top 10 but pulled it out the bag come race day.
Great start to the season, roll on Argentina in 2 weeks
It was great to see Rossi in front of Marquez.
2 weeks to wait now

Looks like another cracker!!!
First 10 in FP1:
Viñales, Petrucci, Zarco, Folger, Abraham, Iannone, Dovizioso, Barbera, Miller, Bautista.
And no, no silly weather or other.
Where's Rossi, waiting till Sunday again?

Vinales still looks a class apart on the yam, expecting mayhem behind
Karel Abraham 3rd! Wasn't expecting much from him since his dad bought him the seat but he's going well!

Just sitting down to it now, hopefully good action.
Me too, but having to watch it on the S7 Edge since binning Virgin last year. Hope it's as good as Qatar.
Light rain at the start of qualifying. The last ingredient for a thriller.
By jove!!!!
and he saved it.
Yep, as I wrote, Abraham really is awesomely talented.
Abraham who couldn't get into the top 15 of WSB, not quite god like yet
Vinales still favourite even though he's on the 2nd row. And a cracker for Cal, be great to see him on the podium
Whoops near the back...whoops near the front...and most of the race still to go!
Edit: 10 laps to go...who will stay on?

Very enjoyable race, good to some action behind the leaders. I did wonder if there would be more fallers, but the first three brought it home in decent style. When will 99 implode? 😁😁 Roll on the next race.
Enjoyed the racing - seems some of the changes could make for some very close racing over the year.
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
And Vale pulls it out of the hat on race day yet again
great race by vinales and Cal too, though I don't why he never seems happy about it. 2 factory Ducati's and 2 factory Honda's on the floor, and Bautista top Ducati.
Who can tell what's going to happen?
Felt sorry for Dovi..... but what a pair of mistakes by the Repsol boys.....looks like they're really struggling for front end feel (grip)...
Looked a tricky day, most of the action seemed to be crashes (unfortunately)
Dovi has the worst luck - taken out twice last year and once already this year - and it's only the 2nd race. I wonder how Cal got front grip when Marc and Dani both threw it down the road. Also, can intimated he was "cruising" held back only by a dash warning light, which rumour and speculation says was a fuel warning.
Sorry if this is old news...MotoGP launches British Talent Cup:
The inaugural British Talent Cup will feature on the bill of MotoGP's British Grand Prix in 2018.
Created by MotoGP promoter Dorna, the new series was launched in London on Tuesday and is aimed at helping foster young British talent.
The BTC will use Honda's NSF 250R Moto3 bike, and be run at circuits in the UK and Spain as part of Dorna events, headlined by the British GP at Silverstone and the World Superbike Championship round at Donington Park.
It is set to follow the template of the Asia Talent Cup established in 2014, with the architect of that programme Alberto Puig in place as Dorna's talent promotion director.
It follows on from the RBR, CEV, ATC etc...see, British Talent Cup Officially Launched.

Bets on Lorenzo not top 10 in any race this season?
I still think we will see him on the podium.
He is however seriously behind things because of lack of mieage all due to his own doing.
He needs the bike set up to his style and for that the team needs information, laps, many laps.
The difference between him and Vinales is not so much that Vinales is faster because he is not; Vinales is flexibel, able to adapt his style and Lorenzo is more set in his style. Rossi to a lesser extend had the same issue when he was with Ducati.
Anyway, i am keeping my fingers crossed it will work out for Lorenze because however much I think him a poor sportsman, another player at the front makes for more exciting racing.
I hope Lorenzo does get it together but a seasonstart like the one he has had will mess with his head. The Satellite GP 15's and 16's are doing better!
I'd suggest that it's a bit difficult to 'knock off' a rider that's behind you...www.youtube.com/watch?v=JS_tVzG1Rko.
