I've come out of winter hibernation and got the road bike out again. Have done 75 (bl00dy cold) miles since Saturday so getting into the swing of things.
Am averaging mid 14's mph but have a desire to get into the high 16's within a month - whats the best training approach to do this please ?

Keep doing the mileage and you will soon get quicker.
Try contacting a local club and go out riding with them on a weekend.
Lots of base miles works wonders. Add in some harder efforts but the harder they are, the less of them you do. The harder efforts need supporting by a firm foundation of easier miles though.
I did 25 miles on Sunday at an average speed of 30.6mph. A lot of miles & hours of interval training went into that
Electric doping.
Job done.
Yes very aero. When I had my CdA measured in the Mercedes Formula 1 wind tunnel in Brackley it was as low as 0.175. That's a lot of free speed. I gained the equivalent of 35W just by keeping my shoulders shrugged. This photo is taken on my ride on Sunday https://www.facebook.com/blackmagicp...type=3&theater
It never gets easier - you just get faster !
I've walked nearly 40 miles since Monday... I really should get my bike out :)
Dug my bike out on Monday after winter training in the pub, just one word, Ow.
