I decided to take my BBR on this transatlantic trip (pics to follow). Where are you heading and what's in your wrist?

My Oris TT1 Divers GMT Date - my go to travel watch!
It varies depending on where I'm heading, but more often than not I grab one of these:
I very rarely take a nice watch on holiday as I tend to go to some quite rough places.
So for the last few years it has been this.
In fact I bought it whilst on holiday in Jo'burg; it replaced my 007 as my holiday watch.
True GMT, great lume and it's kinetic so no chance of the battery failing on me.
I am away to Barcelona in a few days so might take something a bit nicer. I have not decided what to wear yet though.

I was wondering which of my several GMTs to take on a recent trip to Paris, when my charming company pointed out that this seems the most appropriate colourway:
It performed flawlessly!
I take two when away. My Sinn 857UTC and either my Suunto Core or G-Shock

All being well we are off to Dorset, Italy and Spain at various times this year. I usually take a few different ones, a dress pieces and something else that takes my fancy when I'm packing. This is my first year of G Shock ownership so I will definitely be taking that.
if i was travelling aroad it would most likely be this recent purchase as its my only GMT..
Or India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Iran, Myanmar, South Australia...
5 weird things you didn't know about time zones
I believe we're talking at cross purposes.

A Seiko Astron GPS would be no worries on correct time, but hey the thread is not about a watch being in any way suited to travel, crossing time zones is it?!
Citizen promaster land pmd56.
I wore this to Aus and back with stopovers on the way. Sadly it leaked when diving on barrier reef. Not impressed.

My travelling beater.
It's comfy, reliable, has GMT hand, is water resistant to 200m, has character, but most of all I wouldn't worry much if I lost it somehow.
I like to keep my eyes open and see what I can spot others wearing. On the flight out I was sat between an Explorer and a Hublot King Power Diver.

Only ever take my CWC quartz diver and 3 Nato straps.
F.T.F.A.
I used to wear my SS white Daytona for travelling, but someone tried to mug me in Barcelona some years ago (unsuccessfully, luckily), so ever since then I just wear a Swatch with a mechanical automatic movement and a display back. Tough, water-resistant, cheap and I like some of their more restrained Irony designs. Only downside is it's not easy or even possible to open them to service the movement without damaging the case, but mine haven't failed, yet. Got my eye on this one next:
I tend to wear this Omega while I have a gap in the collection for a 'proper' GMT. The quickset hour hand is really convenient when travelling, and it's particularly at home in the sun
You are the first to mention that so THANKS!
The rules changes by gvt are always the Achilles' heel in any programming into the future. The first one caught out was George Riehl with the DST programmed into the Synchronar. It is why Seiko has that as manual setting. In the Astron they provided a manual override option for this.
Polar Explorer 2. Also a huge fan of my Nomos Weltzeit - such a pleasure to change the time zone on that - selling it soon, unfortunately.. I think. If I can let it go.
I often take a G-Shock as I don't care about it, it's not going to break and it's solar powered.
It also automatically updates the time. The trouble with that was when I was coming back from somewhere the morning of daylight saving and it was an early flight. I only had that and my phone for an alarm. Would they both automatically update? How would I know? Just ended up getting to the airport really early!
Well this trip is nearly over do how do I feel about wearing my BBR on leather. It's been as comfortable as ever. It has been subtle enough that I've not worried about it attracting the wrong kind of attention on public transport but also got appreciating glances from a guy wearing a sub.
This trip has also confirmed for me that this is a more "exclusive" watch than my more expensive Omega PO. Wandering the streets of Chicago, Manhattan and New Jersey I didn't see any Tudor but I did see several of my PO (8900 ss with orange rubber in the bezel), including a shop window on Ferry street Newark ... bada bing

Sheesh Reggie, Venice is safe, I've never felt at risk in my time there, even when an obviously overweight unfit tourist wearing an expensive watch in a dark Calle at 2am in the back of Cannaregio
You'll likely see so many expensive watches on the wrists of locals you'll be jealous.
Rob
My go-to is a G-shock; all worries then disappear
Off to Kansas, Colorado and NYC in two weeks. Have previously taken a Colt GMT or Speedy triple date. This time I'll be taking my Tag Aquaracer Chronotimer :)
