I'm watching it live on CNN. Tragic! Anxious to learn what this is all about. It sounds like a multi-pronged attack.
This seems to be the current info:
What we know so far
- There have been two serious incidents near the British parliament.
- A police officer has been stabbed in the Houses of Parliament in central London, the Commons leader, David Lidington, has said.
- The alleged assailant was shot by armed police following a “serious” incident.
- There are further reports of a car driving into a number of people on Westminster Bridge, before driving into the railings of the Palace of Westminster.
- According to reports as many as 12 people could have been involved. People are being treated at the scene.
Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
One victim confirmed dead. :-(

- Police officer stabbed inside Parliament ground
- Assailant shot by police

When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
London Eye appears to have been stopped with people inside

Sad news, although i am amazed these things dont happen more often.
Guinness dies, and then an attack on parliament, couldnt make this up
2 dead according to Sky. Sounds like there will be more too. Grim.

That bridge is always jam packed. It's a nightmare getting across. Expect a number of tourists to be involved.
Following this on the radio and a former assistant chief commissioner was interviewed, he made strong references that the injured police officer has died. I truly hope not.
So so sad ☹️
Crazy stuff. Sadly it seems the deceased does not include the assailant.
BBC: "'Terrorist incident' at Westminster, Posted at 17:25...a woman dies, others are injured and MPs are in lockdown in Westminster."
Edit: Sad to say:
Posted at 17:33
The BBC understands that a police officer who was stabbed in Parliament earlier on Wednesday has died.

20 injured, 4 dead.

Four dead and at least 20 injured. The dead include the police officer who was stabbed, the attacker who was shot, and two others.
Sadly the person responsible is still alive.
Terrible incident for the UK

If this report (BBC @ 17:39) is true: "The French newspaper Le Telegramme is now reporting that three pupils from the Concarneau high school in Brittany are thought to be among those wounded in the incident.", then some of the casualties are aged 11-14. That's after putting it together with an interview on Radio 4 with the French Ambassador in which she named the school as Collège Saint-Joseph. Collège translates to middle school.

Absolutely horrific. Thoughts to all involved....
Chris
Its all so random nowadays in terms of terror attacks. Anytime, anyplace and any victim no matter how young or old, male or female. I come across so many people that are frightened.
I made a decision long ago that whatever would be would be and I won't stop doing anything that I do or alter anything in terms of travel. I have noticed a massive increase at stadium events recently, particularly at the match. God knows what would happen if one of these idiots got into a crowded stadium.
It is just a very sad hate filled world at the moment......
Chris
Not that it's any better, but the French Embassy in London has posted:
Among those injured are three pupils from the Lycée Saint-Joseph in Concarneau who were on a school trip. Jean-Marc Ayrault assures the families of the French people affected of his support at this difficult time.
Lycée is the next age level, 15-18.
Fingers crossed that there are no more fatalities and that those injured make a full recovery (even if it takes a long time).
Madness, another sad day in a big European city.
It doesn't get any friendlier on our little planet..
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Is the number up?
Disgusting attack
The guy needs to be made to talk
3 dead, plus the terrorisist - I hate it when the media lump everyone together. Speedy recovery to all those injured.
Terrible news.
One thing I was thinking as several of the Met top brass have been trotted out to speak was where is Cressida Dick? The woman is supposed to be top of the tree, but perhaps her previous involvement in a "terror" incident has seen her duck for cover.
She is away on business or so I hear. Met is not a one man shop you know.
Fas est ab hoste doceri
This might explain. Dick is not in post yet, and Mackey was a witness. I thought acting deputy commissioner Rowley spoke very well in any case, I doubt if Dick would have been better.

Police officers now lining the route for PC Palmer's funeral cortège later today.
Quite a poignant and sad sight.
Just taking a few minutes to watch the live coverage on BBC News, an impressive showing of officers lining the route.
