    The new Stowa Flieger 36mm:

Must say I'm very impressed with the quality: very solid, beautifully finished, wonderful blued hands with good lume. So much better than the other Flieger A models available in 36mm.

Andrea from Martu could be worth a shout; she's a pleasure to deal with. Is it 20 or 22mm as a matter of interest?

Took delivery of this IWC mk XV Spitfire LE a week or so ago. Very pleased, it is a bit bigger than the mark XII so fits better on my chubby wrist.

This CWC new to me, on the vintage 1981 British military strap. Case and profile is very nice and I like the ageing tritium. Yes the hand doesn't hit the markers, although it oddly corrects itself sometimes but at least it ticks in a stable way rather than the wobbling Ronda movement. Most importantly has enough torque which means the hands extend fully to the edge of the dial as they should do.

Thanks for the kind words below. At 38mm this is a lovely fit and has been my daily wearer for most of the past week. I was thinking of replacing my smaller mkXII with this but think I will keep both now. The mkXV keeps good time as a bonus !

I had made a big purchase the other day, then made the mistake of viewing SC, a quick check of the Timefactors website showed the Speedbird as sold out, thought I had only looked recently and it was still in stock. A quick pm and this beauty arrived soon after, thanks to James TimeOut! Not sized the bracelet yet.

Have admired these for a while but didn't fancy forking out a lot plus the taxes. But saw the Irish seller on eBay with unbelievable prices without the taxes and the result is the picture. Will get it off the awful strap straight away as it truly is horrible.

No idea what that it is either, but given the 17 year weight congratulation, it looks great !!

    Its a
Jaeger Le Coultre Millenaire Atmos Clock.

Atmos clocks run bay harnessing the energy from the daily change in the surrounding air pressure and temperature and don't require winding.

This unusual shaped model, the Millenaire, was produced in 2000 to celebrate the millennium and has a one thousand year calender indicating month, moon phase and year.

New arrival today! So nice to have a unique watch: I ordered the Pinion Axis 2 but a one-off build with polished case and back instead of production brushed finish. I also ordered a black date dial with white numbers rather than the standard white with black numbers. Lovely finish and Pinion are a great British micro-brand.

Lume on the Pinion is uber-bright. After 3 mins outside I came indoors and the lume was glowing! Pic does not show this that well.

Pleased with this new arrival as I'd been after the movement for a while. It's an auto and the minute and second hand are driven indirectly, to make space for a bigger balance (so hopefully more accurate). This arrangement also means that the crown hand winds backwards. The rotor makes a lovely light 'ratchet' sound when it's winding.

It's amazing what a bit of a polish and a decent strap can do. This is what the eBay picture looked like - no wonder I was the only bidder.
